Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

How good does everyone think this would work with a pallet rack beam and at most 200lbs? A little bracing on the ends to keep it from tipping to one side or the other and it already have the overhang to drop into the carriages.

    Electric hoist question

I have a 110v 440# electric hoist that I use for removing a 125-150# hard top. It's has rather jerky stops and starts is this normal for these hoists? A ****** block was recommended from another source but it doesn't feel like it made much of a difference. Any suggestions?

    VEVOR pass/fail

I have the 330lb version. Great cart and I use it all the time. I started out pulling the lift arm out because it hung out to far in the spot I stored it. I ended up shortening the pump arm about 6" so it no longer sticks out past the handle. Also added rollers for tire changes/rotations.

    Show your new tool arrivals

I got 2 of these last week. Stacked the 2 tops together on one base and the other base will get repurposed for something else. Not the greatest quality but on par with the HF/Northern Tool versions. I got both for under $200 shipped from Aliexpress saving about $100 vs others on sale. The clamps...

    2 Post Lift Placement

If you make your base footings larger then it gives you the option to move over if you change your mind about being off center. Mine are 4'x4' under the lift posts.

Basic/economic not fancy rolling tool cabinet??

A Yukon (HF) or cheaper Husky is a decent compromise especially if you're not a frequent user. I bought a couple of Yukon boxes used so I could use them for my woodworking/seldom used tools. It's turned out better than I expected as far as function is concerned. It would never hold a candle to...

Looking for the worlds strongest magnetic hooks

I thought I was losing my mind. I was certain I had seen the your sign on the metal building FB group. It just popped up again at random. Very cool sign and nice shop.

    Craigslist Dreamers

Add was deleted , go figure. It was basically a couple of HF tool boxes with maybe a $1-2k worth of tools for $30k. It got a lot comments in reference the sellers level of drug usage.

    Electronics repair as a hobby

I took electronics class in high school but didn't get much out of out because it was a coaster class and the teacher was the head coaster. The Jeep in my avatar start having issues with the ECM so I dove in to find info on repairing it. Got it fixed and started hunting MP for more to repair and...

    Pallet rack question

The crane setup that LXCam has is looking like a winner but I'm looking at the smaller version. My walls are 10' so not a lot of room for a tall crane under the ridge.

    Pallet rack question

We do get them here occasionally but they are mostly under a 3. I lived 20 years in Northern California and never experienced an earthquake until I lived in Oklahoma.

    Pallet rack question

I looked into the truck crane some more and I think I can use the compact version that fits under the bed rail. Not lifting anything very heavy and I have a hydraulic lift cart that lifts just over 4' so I have to lift half the distance. Since this is going to see minimal use l'm cheaping out...

Your Best Tool Purchase in 2025?

Sold off my 42" tool box and upgraded to a 56" setup. My dust collector is not in a really accessible area so this little remote switch has helped a bunch.

    Pallet rack question

Good advice everyone and thank you. LXCam if my ceiling were taller I would definitely be using your idea. Maybe the engine hoist forklift is a better option at this point.

    US General 72” hutch modification

Nice work you need to market that. The prevailing solution costs about $200+ and adds 2 drawers between the hutch/top chest and the tool box. 2 of these single cart drawers fit a 56" but the 72" has a gap.

    Pallet rack question

I'm planning on going with a set of rack about 23' long and 48" wide. Planning on 2 8' uprights on the ends and a 10' in the middle. Future plans to add some type of lift for loads under 150# working off the middle rack. All that being said would it be good idea to secure the uprights in the...
