Thanks for the comments- I'm very happy with the roof, it's a 50-year steel shingle by Tamko, Vermont blue slate finish to match the house. It would be nice to do some matching gutter helmets like I have on the house, but might have to save that for a future improvement!

Finally an update- floor was taken out and redone with a much better result. Walls are framed and most of the exterior sheeting is up. Arched door openings will be "soldier" bricked to match my attached garage (below) Existing attached garage I'm trying to match in terms of style...

I'm sure Scott will chime in when he can- but my understanding based on researching densifiers for quite some time is that the densifier will delay the spill from staining but not prevent it. In other words, depending on how smooth the finish was to begin with and how well the densifier...

Sorry for the cliffhanger- needed some rest after the bottle of wine it took to digest the new slab. I am having the job overseen by a general contractor who had subcontracted the concrete to a local "crew". Apparently the "crew" didn't have enough help and got overwhelmed by the pour. End...

I had hoped to report a beautiful slab pour today, but suffice it to say it didn't go well. Jackhammer and slab removal pics may be forthcoming before week's end :-(
