Above 1200 Sq/FT PNW High Desert Shop

Alright, final grade on the gravel is complete on the interior and concrete is going in as soon as I finish my under slab plumbing work. Here is a pic of my layout as I have planned it. Pretty simple- toilet, shower, and a sink on each side of the wall. Not shown will be the PEX coming in for...

Best Accessories You've Purchased for Your Garage

In order of importance my favorites are: 1. LED lights ceiling lights (popular pick) 2. Stanley storage rack (gets used CONSTANTLY, reduces clutter and searching time) 3. Wall mounted 18650 battery charger for HF magnetic LED lights 4. Wall mounted 18v tool battery chargers and battery storage...

Making progress! As soon as the shear wall inspection is complete the vapor barrier and tin can go up on the front wall, and then the last of the floor base gravel can go in. After that the plan is to trench and install plumbing & electrical conduit and finally concrete! It's wild I can fit a...

Sprinklers designed to be driven over?

Wow, I had notifications turned off! Thanks guys! I hadn't seen the concrete donuts. I'll obviously try to avoid them, but at some point it's inevitable. I use the swing joints now; I hadn't considered that it will just move with the sprinkler. Obviously not ideal to drive on them, but I'll...

Sprinklers designed to be driven over?

In the not too distant future I'd like to pave my driveway but would like to make it a teardrop loop so I don't have to pay for so much asphalt, and also to keep the area from being so hot in the summer. Also would alleviate the temptation to rip donuts on my new asphalt. I'd like to put grass...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished up an adapter to hang a Ford C6 from an engine stand.

Got trusses on! Planning on the not too distant future- anybody have any input on asphalt vs concrete under the lean-tos? I presume asphalt is cheaper, but I haven’t checked yet. I’m going to pave the driveway and up to the shop, but am not 100% on what to do under the lean-to’s.

Pole Barn Stair & Door Framing

Long story long- I'm building a pole barn. I can build just about anything mechanically, but know ZERO about residential construction. Never exposed to it, not that I can't figure out a dozen ways that would be fine but it's almost certain I'm not doing something the common, easy, or right...

I'm in Central Oregon, near Bend. It's a nice area, but pricing on stuff has gone OFF. THE. RAILS. I wasn't joking when I said I had to drive a stake in the ground and purchase this kit when I did, or else I never could have.

Trusses were dropped off last week and holes should be completed today!

Above 1200 Sq/FT PNW High Desert Shop

Hey! Now that my garage is pretty much functional, I figured I'd really throw a wrench in things and build a shop. Probably can't afford to complete it to the level I want right off the bat, but things aren't getting cheaper and I had to drive a stake in the ground and figured now is as good a...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finally started welding up a maximum capacity tank for the back of the TJ. Should have about ~25 gallons behind the seat, and another 4 gallons between the frame rails in the sump tank where the pump is mounted.

Grease Gun Storage Help - Leaks

I printed a holder and added a spot for 'just the tip' that stays on it. Anybody is welcome to the stl file if their **** retention is as high as mine. Clearly base on what I've seen on GJ, I'm mid-pack at best, haha!

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT PNW High Desert Garage

I couldn't leave well enough alone, I kept imagining what a sheet metal Stanley rack would look like. My buddy bought a sheet metal brake and I couldn't resist the opportunity to try out a new tool! Only two components, infinitely stackable, bolt pattern fits standard and double thick...

    Air comp in shed

I ran a 2" conduit sweep from the shed foundation, underground, then up next to the garage and then through into the garage. I just pulled in my air hose like you would electrical through the same conduit. I then tied into the hard line I plumbed my garage with. No condensation, no...

I'm no Civil, so you're on your own their. I ran enough numbers to feel safe with some pretty small loads, relatively. I have a 440lb Chinesium winch for mine, and likely won't ever need to lift more than that with it.

Howdy! Thanks for the compliments on my organizer, especially since I don't work with wood. That's pretty much the only project I've ever made from wood, other than the shed I built (if that even counts?). People will hate me for saying this but...it's kind of awful. It's an imperfect...
