    The Barking Dog Garage

Hey Bob, good morning! The old 1/3hp Liftmaster was actually hooked up to my 16’ garage door. Maybe that was too much for it over the years. The old residents left a business card for a garage door repair man and I gave him a call. He said that it was quite common for GDO’s to shear that shaft...

I did some investigating on the indoor key pad for the GDO and opened up the receiver for it. The antenna wire was just coiled up inside so I drilled a hole and ran the antenna outside the receiver. It is working much better now!

Well I installed the new shaft and got the garage opener working. I started setting the travel limits and I guess I worked the motor too hard and it let its smoke out. The GDO continued to work but needed help getting the door to close. Tried adjusting the force to close but still didn’t have...

Wow! That is a nice looking machine sir. Dang! I will have to put in a little time on it but I’m looking forward to getting to use it. Cleaned up my scraps today and getting ready to build my lumber cart soon. These are the scraps I threw out. These are the scraps I kept. I had an...

Unruh, great projects. Very good quality and craftsmanship. I like the storage cabinets you built and the lumber cart. Great stuff! The bench grinder stand is also very nice. The project you did with your daughter and the safety sign was very funny. I thought that was great. -Blake

Man Bret, thank you. What I thought might be a challenge, you made a simple afternoon online shopping spree. Haha! I hadn’t looked anywhere yet and thought someone on here would know a quick and easy solution. And there you were! I’m going to work on cleaning it up and getting it back to...

Went to my grandparents for Christmas dinner and gift exchange. My grandfather told me I could pick up this bandsaw he picked up at a garage sale for $20. Here are a few pictures of it in my garage. He said it needs new tires and a new blade guard (circle thing that goes into the table). Does...

Merry Christmas y’all! I got this Jet mobile base from my sister-in-law. I am really happy with it. We will see how it works after being used and abused.

Merry Christmas to you Bret! It takes a while to get up to speed and slow down. Which doesn’t bother me since it’s smooth throughout that transition. Hopefully using the wheel doesn’t cause the machine to become unbalanced. -Blake

Old Iron, Yes sir! It is stainless. I actually worked at a salt mine so we had some stainless steel lying around and of course, old forklift tires which is what the base is. Uhruh, I will check it out. I agree with your idea. I don’t keep full sheets either. I’m going to follow Steve Ramsey’s...

I haven’t used it too much yet but I will say that it is really smooth when it’s running.

I got a $100 gift card from work so I will be using it to buy wood to make a lumber rack or cart. I go back and forth between what I want and need. Right now, I’m thinking a lumber cart on wheels so it’s mobile but we will see what happens! I whipped up some Christmas gifts for my sister-in-law...

Sorry for your loss Bret. Dogs understand us in ways most people can't and that's the beauty of the friendship between you and your Shelby. No matter where you go or what you do, she will be there. Take care sir. -Blake

Cart looks awesome Bret. Are you going to add a drawer to the bottom?

Thanks Bret. I was thinking that too and then hold onto the other one as a spare. I know that one is a 30 grit and the other is a 60 grit. I’m not sure which one I should keep on there though. BUT I’m happy with it and look forward to using it. -Blake

Yes sir! I bet a lot of people were wondering what it was for. Haha. It’s built from an old forklift tire so it’s heavy but super stable and shouldn’t chatter against the floor since it’s rubber.

There’s nothing that will make you feel better about your workspace than right after it’s clean. I try to clean as I go if possible or make all my cuts, then vacuum all the dust. My wife let me open my presents early since we won’t be at our house for Christmas. She got me a sign for the...
