Back to the backyard today, after a frustrating year attempting to grow grass from scratch, we failed miserably, after discussion with our landscaper, with some testing an input from Clemson University Plant and Environmental Sciences folks, we have decided to bite the bullet and install a...

Ten mile shakedown cruise is in the books, no drips or leaks anywhere. My first impression is a good one, steering is the later ERA design, nimble, no rattles, gas gauge may not be accurate as I topped the tank off with 93 octane and it only shows 3/4 tank, let it idle in traffic, stayed at 180...

The black vinyl on the dash was done for whatever reason, none of my other cobras have ever had it, nor did I feel it ever needed it. New carb came in, not happy with it, ordered the same unit I have on my white FIA (Holley 0-82651SA) which will allow me to have a more precise tune than the...

Being a long time SAAC member (80/81), I remember the days people I barely knew would throw a set of keys at me and ask me to move or park one of their Cobras. One such person handed me $30 and told me to go get some race gas at Pocono Raceway many, many, many years ago for their big block...

There is about a .5" difference between 0034 and 2257, less than .25" difference with 2195 and 2245 Yet, a good eye, as ERA 2127 (green car) started life on their assembly floor as a street version of a 289 FIA, somewhere during assembly, before actual bodywork and paint was started, the...

Back on the ground, now waiting on the replacement carb due in on Monday, then, if the weather holds out, will take it for it's inaugural spin.

I'm going to clean the carpet set that is in the car, as it is really not in bad shape, then see how it looks before I tear the interior apart. I did manage to get rid of the black vinyl on the dash and the black duct tape off the chrome rollbar today. Pulled the wheels and did a complete tech...

It's growing on me, I may do the carpet as I have it already, hold off on the dash till I decide if I like the look. Time will tell.

I have the basics, the sellers, really nice people, but not 100% up on the differences and exact details of the car, I think I may have actually said I knew more about their car then they did when we were in negotiations, as I had notes on the car before I ever contacted ERA, not certain why...

SWMBO was out this AM, which left me with too much free time and absolutely no adult supervision :bounce: Wonder what I'll find to fill this empty space.

I tried everything I could to come up with the extra 2" of legroom to avoid the issues I had with the angle of my right leg and the accelerator pedal assembly. Short drives were fine, long ones, and I had issues once I got out of the car. Bill

And just like that, one leaves the nest I should have been worried that the driver did not know how to drive a manual transmission, but it arrived at the new owners home in Florida safely the next day.

Slates in, old ones were 1.5" thick, these are 3" thick, glad I didn't have to help pick them up. Crepe Myrtle has been planted and well watered. 1 bag soil conditioner, 6 additional bags of topsoil, and 2 bags mulch to hold it all in place.

Two years ago today we had several trees removed, funny how fate works as we had a quad tree (only 3 of which were still standing) removed today. Replacement Crepe Myrtle shown below, it is a good two feet away from the original tree/stump location. Still need to dig an actual hole...

No offense meant nor taken, I'm one of those people who likes to walk around and do yard work in his bare feet. The backyard is so rough right now, it hurts, so it's planned upgrade is on the books. Then I'll be able to have family and friends over with their kids, we can relax on the patio...
