Seeking recommendations for ultra compact head 3/8" drive ratchet (1/4" body) for under $65

It's nice seeing what other guys have going on in their toolboxes. Makes me think that my 30 year old set of craftsman sockets may be way too much and too cluttery having everything in both 6 and 12 pt. That was immensely helpful. I was thinking the direction selector might add quite a bit of...

What combination of ratchet styles is most useful if having 5-7 ratchets?

Well, older is subjective. Middle aged, but do have some nerve issues in my hands and perhaps some pre-arthritis. I think that outside of that I'd rather go with the classic all-metal, but I should probably do what's right for my hand's longevity and give up the small rotational losses that can...

Seeking recommendations for ultra compact head 3/8" drive ratchet (1/4" body) for under $65

Steve - curious about which vehicles you've done subie spark plugs. My wife has an impreza, me an outback. I've heard the impreza is much tighter than the impreza. You make a good point that the GW90T might work OK, without buying a specialty ratchet - thanks for that context!

Seeking recommendations for ultra compact head 3/8" drive ratchet (1/4" body) for under $65

Andy - thanks for taking the time to put that together and share! That was very helpful! Looks like the head width on the 3440 is just shy of an inch (which is the same as the Astro?) Any insight you can offer on the thickness (back to plane of attached socket) would be very helpful. I noticed...

Seeking recommendations for ultra compact head 3/8" drive ratchet (1/4" body) for under $65

Yes, that's a real consideration. I'll check if they provide mfg max torque ratings on each of these.

Seeking recommendations for ultra compact head 3/8" drive ratchet (1/4" body) for under $65

All, this is great feedback and recommendations! Thank you! Looks like I goofed getting the time-specific link of the video (link) @Rabid Badger - thanks for sharing. that's good info on their build quality. @drtyler and @Twisted Sid - re: the Tekton, do you have a sense of how it compares in...

Seeking recommendations for ultra compact head 3/8" drive ratchet (1/4" body) for under $65

I have a couple subarus I need to replace spark plugs on, and there are some special needs for ultra tiny ratchet heads, due to space constraints. You can see some more expensive and less expensive ratchets listed at this point in this video. He gives expensive options and a couple inexpensive...

What combination of ratchet styles is most useful if having 5-7 ratchets?

My 30 year old craftsman ratchets are no longer in good repair, and I warrantied them for some new Overdrive 180t ratchets that I'll sell to get something better. What combination of ratchets make best sense if ending up with 5-7 ratchets in the long haul? Considerations would be: - Length...

How would you clean up gouges in these DW735 planer infeed and outfeed tables?

Yeah, those were the edges I was concerned about. I was having feed issues the other day, so I rotated the blades and cleaned the rollers and got minwax for the table, but then noticed it needed some edges removed. I couldn't find my knife sharpening stone, but did find a small stone I have for...

How would you clean up gouges in these DW735 planer infeed and outfeed tables?

I do like the idea of that. I am curious if the quick-set stops can be adjusted so they work with the extra thickness. Unfortunately, I don't have a stone at the moment. I like the idea, provided it is removable, as I'm limited on space. I'll have to work through that but think it would be a...

How would you clean up gouges in these DW735 planer infeed and outfeed tables?

To be honest, I'm having trouble telling. The micro dimpling of the surface makes me think so, but the overall appearance and thought of chroming a small piece of metal seems more costly than just forming a piece of stainless.

How would you clean up gouges in these DW735 planer infeed and outfeed tables?

Below are some pics from my Dewalt 735 planer. The infeed and outfeed tables have some narrow gouges in them that have some raised edges to them. One actually has a depression/crease in the metal (that one might need filling… later). 320 g Sandpaper (wet) with block or scotchbrite roloc or...

    Compressor Automatic Drain

@welder4956 - How long have you had the Conrader drain valve installed, and how is it holding up / working? I have sensitive hearing, and even the pressure switch going off is too much for me (tinnitus). Does it reduce the pressure or it's just the full pressure coming out of the hose, loudly?

For an 8" bench grinder with wire wheel... what's the minimum amperage you'd look for in a quality older unit?

I knew on a smaller 6" grinder that was good power for a brush, but wasn't sure on an 8". Thanks.

For an 8" bench grinder with wire wheel... what's the minimum amperage you'd look for in a quality older unit?

For an 8" bench grinder running a wire wheel... what's the minimum amperage you'd look for in a quality older unit? In this case it's a Dayton (likely Taiwan) with 5.8A.

    Garden Hose Quick Connects

I'm curious... are the seals a washer or o-ring on the female end, and where have you been able to find the replacements?

Form-a-gasket type material that won't act as an adhesive / bond to surface?

Anyone know of a form a gasket (from a tube) type material that won't bond to the materials it's sealing? I have the below duct damper that will be screwed to the osb, and I may have some 26 ga sheet metal from the exterior folded over the interior opening, once the opening is cut. I want to be...

Craftsman 113.213171 Drill Press - what taper/drift key? recommendations for affordable replacement arbor + chuck?

Hi all - I have a Craftsman 113.213171 5/8" drill press, shown below. Had it for a few years with some runout issues, and occasional issues with both the arbor and chuck detaching. More recently looks to have gotten some damage to the arbor with some debris. Didn't come with a drift key. - What...
