Dewalt or what drill should I look at getting instead ?

I use Dewalt 18v stuff daily on service calls and I have found that the battery life has been excellent with these tools. I do pool and spa repairs so they get wet, muddy, etc. constantly and I love them. That being said, every two years I replace all my tools and sell my old ones on CL just to...

    I love Snap-On tools ..BUT

Re: I love SnapOn tools ..BUT I didn't pay anywhere near the online price for my SO stubby set off the local truck. Maybe the online prices are just jacked or my local guy knows that we won't pay those prices? I dunno???

Love my miller bobcat! Had a hobart before it and like the adjustability better on the miller 100%.

    Ultrasonic cleaners?

We use a DTI model UC2/3G it is 2/3 of a gallon and we use it for cleanig carburetors primarily. It works fantastically! I stuck the breech plug out of my BIL's black powder rifle that had been fired numerous times last year and then stored loaded until season this year. It was NASTY! I put it...

    CO2 / Generators

Agreed, I was picturing him welding an extension to the pipe just to make it longer. Your idea is basically an exhaust "chimney" and I see no problems with that! We have a lot of redneck engineers here who weld glasspacks onto the exhaust of their welders to "quiet 'er down" and then...

Adding hydro cooler to Dixie Chopper

I think his statement was from looking at the earlier pictures, In the earlier pictures it looked like you had mounted the cooler directly over the flywheel fan. maybe he was thinking that the fan pulled air into the engine rather than sucking it through the cowling?

Adding hydro cooler to Dixie Chopper

You should send a picture and specs of this to Art Evans(started Dixie Chopper). He would love the idea! Heck the guy put a jet engine on a Chopper back in the early 90's IIRC.......lol

Change your stripe plan to cover the outlets with a stripe then the difference will not be noticeable since the outlets will be centered in a wide stripe?

Backfeeding a Generator to Your House

Look it up in the NEC code book.......... He was utilizing the cable for a transmission line subject to higher draw. The 30 amp rating is for single source power supply such as feeding a dryer or AC unit that will normally have a much lower load draw at run cycles but may climb higher during...

Backfeeding a Generator to Your House

I am surprised that you didn't start a fire or melt your wire ...... You used a cable made for 15amps for power transmission on a gen set that was capable of normal output of 25 amps at normal run. Not even considering startup output or load.

    CO2 / Generators

Any exhaust extension you would likely make will cause backpressure issues on the particular generator engine you have ordered. It will over time cause you to burn valves. If you are worried about CO2 I would suggest an exhaust collection box with a small low amp blower fan piped to where you...

Backfeeding a Generator to Your House

I used to use the 10kw gen set in my miller to power the house all the time when we lost power. That being said, it was run through a transfer switch!

    welding helmet help

Not trying to start a fight at all here, BUT as a small business owner myself I always take every opportunity I get to mention that us brick and mortar guys are always the place that everyone runs to when they have a problem that needs personal attention to solve. I realize that we can't compete...

    welding helmet help

As long as you aren't TIG welding any auto darkening is going to be the cat's pajamas. I used to use an Optrel but when the battery finally went bad I bought a Jackson W60 because of the delay adjustment and darker shade options for TIG welding. Jackson makes a lot of nice helmets though that...
