Help with placement of ductless mini split

The outside bottom portion and right wall (the 2 walls with windows) are the front of the house and very visible. This would be the perfect wall for a PTAC unit (at about 1/3 the cost of a mini split) but I don't want anything on the front, this leaves the side where the driveway is. Garage is...

    Fujitsu ductless mini split

Mark, I've been researching this option, yet again. I think a minisplit with a heat pump and an additional heat strip might be the way to go. I have 3 PTAC units in my kennel that have the back up heat strip, so if the temp goes below 30 (at which point the heat pump doesn't heat) then the heat...

Help with placement of ductless mini split

I currently have a ceiling mounted electric heater still in the box awaiting install. The more I thought about it, the more I decided that I really would like to have A/C in the summer. While I love my PTAC units in my kennel, there is no good place in the garage to put one that it's not an...

    A newb looking for suggestions...

I have 9' ceilings in my garage and it is fine. I have space above the doors for extra storage and plenty of head room for our vehicles. Like you, a lift is not in the future for us (actually it may be, but we would put it in our tractor barn which is a steel structure with 14' at the peak...

    Interesting new pegboard solution

I found this on a home decorating forum I frequent, (yes, I really AM a girl :bounce: ). I've already received my order of Storewall, but was thinking this stuff might be great to fill in a few small areas where I don't want to cut down the Storewall to fit. The panels are steel and have slots...

    Racedeck vs Daytona garage tile

I can't compare them insitu, but I have Daytona tile and my brother in law has Racedeck. They are fairly different appearance wise. My brother in law is a "brand name" kind of person and didn't really do any research, he just had someone put in the brand he'd heard of. He is very happy with...

The floor is finished! On to the walls...

Daytona is $2.25 per tile. On my 484 sf garage the savings was about $350.00 which paid for my new vacuum! I removed the baseboards because I am replacing them with rubber baseboard material. Waterproof and washable! Annette

The floor is finished! On to the walls...

The dark color is only for 2 walls and only up to 36", the remaining 6 1/2 ft to the ceiling will be a pale light blue/gray. Most of the dark blue area will be behind the workbench and storage cabinets. I don't know if you can see in some of my pics, but Georgia red clay tends to get splattered...

The floor is finished! On to the walls...

They are Daytona tiles by Sport Court. I liked them because of the understated tread pattern and they aren't as stiff as the RaceDeck or other plastic tiles I have seen used. My best friend put the Costco ones in her husband's Corvette garage for Father's Day last year, and while they are nice...

The floor is finished! On to the walls...

We will be doing 2 walls with Storewall, we are thinking a 30" section on the side wall and a 45" on the back wall. I'm going to do the Dover White. I liked the Weathered Grey, but it is a very different gray than the floor tiles so I decided on the DW. The air compressor is for me and me alone...

The floor is finished! On to the walls...

The floor is finished!!!!! It took me a week to get through all the holiday malarky and get enough time set aside to work on it. Overall it took about 2 hours to lay the main area of whole tiles. It took another 4+ hours to do the edging tiles. Now of course, mine was a bit more complicated...

Added some fans a cool Spicket to my garage

I can think of numerous reasons for hot water outside. 1. Wash dogs outside a bit later in fall and earlier in spring. 2. Scrub the smoker/grill. see pic below 3. Add hot water to top off pool in spring. 4. Wash car when it's a bit colder and not completely freeze my hands! "The Smokewolf"...

Occasionally Heating and Cooling attached Garage.

I guess for me the difference is initial cost plus not having to find a spot for the outside portion. I can get a 12000 BTU 26" Ptac unit that will fit in my existing window for $481. All the mini split units I've priced start around $1000, which took those out of the running for me. Annette
