    Cordless Tool Observations

Not only that but if you're getting paid for the work being completed, time is money. Who cares if they're (somewhat) disposable or more expensive? In my cases they pay for themselves in short order with increased convenience and productivity. After that everything is gravy.

    Craftsman DBE warranty?

Well I talked 'em into a CMMT42425 which is the offset reversible. I'll just cut my losses with that and buy the appropriate GW 14mm DBE XL Actually haven't had time to try an ATF soak yet...maybe that'll do it

    Craftsman DBE warranty?

Well to my surprise I got a response. They told me they no longer have this product or parts for it (which I told them in my initial inquiry) They tried to offer me a CMMT42918 which is just a basic (and probably lobster claw) combo wrench. I don't think she ("Laura") understood this was a...

    Craftsman DBE warranty?

Yeah I mean the $25 isn't a huge deal to have a complete, functioning set but maybe I'll try the ATF soak. edit: looking at my order history i paid $57 for the entire set in '17, so from that perspective $25 for a single is a lot, but the $57 was also a killer sale price

Was gonna ask the same thing and found the same pricing online. BFR5TK doesn't come up at matco.com

    Craftsman DBE warranty?

Well I sent an inquiry to Craftsman thru their Contact Us-->Warranty at craftsman.com. Honestly I'll be amazed if I actually get a response -- I'm envisioning it already in a digital Trash Bin in India

    Craftsman DBE warranty?

Ok well excellent points all. I appreciate the feedback. I hadn't considered the postage to them, and I agree I wouldn't trust them or hold my breath to ever see anything ever again if I mailed it in. I may try to pry it open and see if I can get it working. I'm not trying to work an angle...

    Craftsman DBE warranty?

This 14mm DBE stopped ratcheting last night. Kinda bummed as these XL DBE's are nice. It's a 11247 which doesn't seem to be a valid Cman part # any longer. I don't think they ever sold these individually? I know I can get it as a GW 85914 but it's $25 on Amazon and $28 on eBay, which I'd...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Well then I want to put in my millionth request again for an M18 inflator. No, not the compressor. A smaller form factor, no tank, and can take Load Range E tires to 80 psi. The M12 is joke for anything other than an Accord And Dacan, you're what marketers call an early adopter. But if guinea...

Shortest 1/4 Hex to Square Adapter

If you wanna get crazy take one thats too long to a machine shop and tell them what you need. They can face to length and cut a new retaining groove. I've actually done this.

    Mill head tramming, alignment

So yeah that's "two and a half tenths" and a "half thou."

    Mill head tramming, alignment

Under 3 tenths....yeah you're good. If I can get it around a thou I'm happy -- usually I'll take under 2 thou. Anything better is a waste of time for a manual machine. Ditto for indicating in your vise.

Where to buy snap on best deal without a tool truck?

You can sometimes find the 36" breaker as a Bahco 8170-1/2 on Amazon.de, but right now it looks like $207 delivered to me, so that ain't great. Back in June it was a different seller and would have been $142

    Cold weather compressor use

My 80 gallon Craftsman purchased new circa '03 has always lived outside in an unheated shed. Colorado climate its entire life, so near zero humidity, but winter temps at night can be single digits, summers high 90's with occasional triple digits. I think I've changed the oil twice in 17 years...

    Which long reach jack?

This has pretty much been my conclusion, also. Probably hard to go wrong with either, but they do require some decent weight on the handle under full-size trucks. If $ is no object my DK20HLQ will take the front of my '11 crew cab long bed 6.2 4x4 to max height (curb weight 8100# per the...

    Slip Roller

I'd only own one that opens up. Used to use one at my former employer and could never go back. But they're not cheap and I imagine yours was far more budget friendly. Good job

    digital caliper care & maintenance

I've got three 6" Mits in the shop. They all sit face down when not in use but that's it. I do NOTHING else to them but change the batts when they warn me. If it gives you warm fuzzies to feel like you're doing some maintenance regimen than go for it, but these are basically just handheld DRO...

    Williams Reversible ratcheting wrenches

About 5 years ago I stumbled upon these BP's in 24 and 25mm. I gave $20 ea. I've used the 24mm a few times and it's "good". Nothing phenomenal but nothing to complain about, either I did go 100% Williams for ratcheting flex heads because they're one of the few that offer reversible, and...

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

I've still got the 2451 which was literally v1.0 based off the original 2450 1/4" hex. This looks like the variant of the revised 2462 1/4" hex. But yeah, it's not brushless. I keep my 2451 at the lathe with the appropriate hex socket for quickly reversing jaws. Huge time saver
