    Bent Garage door

My daughter ran into my 16' x 7' garage door in her boyfriends 4 Runner. I managed to take the door apart and flatten the panels as best I could and get it reinstalled to keep the weather out. The door now has an inward bow to it and a couple gaps (<1/2") between panels. I haven't tried...

    Box cutters versus utility knives?

Now you have to post pictures of the truck. I was also a night stocker right out of high school in '75 with a 1955 F100. I used to have a bunch of the flat box knives, usually with a food company name or logo.

Whats the purpose of calling 811, call before you dig?

Why would you use dowsing when you had just located the city's line with a metal detector (I assume).

Whats the purpose of calling 811, call before you dig?

I once dug up a phone cable with a zillion wires that knocked out phone service for an entire small community. Locate marks from the phone utility were about 10' off. They just shrugged and got to work splicing the lines.

I need help. I have to get my tools appraised due to a divorce and I cant find anyone that will do it?

My ex and her man hating lawyer tried placing a value on my tools. They valued a band saw I paid $75 for at $500, 30 year old table saw for $1500 and so forth, absolutely no clue. It was all for naught as I showed I owned most of the tools before we were married.

    Gimmick Wrenches, Tools.

I had one of those too. Someone broke into my truck and stole it and the ratchet it was on. I wanted to track the guy down so I could thank him.

    Plastic vs wood shed?

The roof on a plastic shed is pretty weak and will collapse under a snow load. My neighbor gave me his 8' x 12' after this happened. I welded some angle iron on the roof trusses to reinforce them and the shed served me well for 10 years sitting on nothing but a pallet foundation. I made sure...

    How my day went...

Keep in mind shoveling 2" of snow is a whole lot easier than shoveling 6". 2" is like shoveling shredded paper, anything over 6" is a workout and invitation for a sore back and possibly a coronary. At least for old guys like me.

    How my day went...

Exact same thing happened to me the other day. Luckily my 1994 MTD started on that one pull so I was happy and started snowblowing. Made 2 passes and ran out of gas. Doh! Had a new rope on in 15-20 minutes.

Old Fastener Storage: Do you indulge or refrain?

I have been in the same boat for years. One evening I just grabbed a bucket of mixed fasteners and a couple clear plastic peanut jars. Bolts in one, nuts in another, and washers in another, I used one for screws too. After an hour or so I think I'd sorted all of the various cans I had laying...

    2022 Home Depot's deals/sales/clearance thread

I actually got these on a penny deal at the end of 2020. Bought 1 and it rang up at a penny. Made that purchase and went and bought 10 more. A few days later I checked and they still had a bunch so I picked up all remaining. I ended up with 24, so I spent less than a quarter. Gave them out...
