Need decent swaging tool for very infrequent DIY use

I've used ones like this and have had good results. $25 isn't too bad for something you'll use sporadically. It'll do a couple different sizes too.

    Make the snow slide

The snow removal guys where I work used to use a product called "Slide". They'd spray the inside of the dump trucks used to haul snow so it would slide out easier. I have no idea where to find it.

    Bike tank repair (dents)

I've heard of dents being removed by heating the area then applying dry ice or using canned air upside down. I don't know how if would work on a thicker metal like an old school motorcycle tank.

    Airbrush compressors

I've heard of guys repurposing the compressor from a small refrigerator for use as an airbrush compressor. They are pretty quiet.

    Used oil for heater

If you burn the used oil under EPA rules (40CFR279) you are supposed to only burn used oil that you generate yourself. You are not supposed to accept others used oil as that would make you a used oil processor. They are trying to avoid people burning oils with hazardous wastes mixed in...

    ski storage ideas?

I made a horizontal ski storage rack above my garage door. It is just two rectangles made from 2x4's that are screwed to the ceiling. Since they aren't used year round it keeps them out of the way where they don't get banged around and also frees up other space. The only drawback is having to...

    Seeking Tips for Removing Adhesive/Mastic

Try something like Orange-Sol or another citrus based solvent. I've used it to remove mastic containing asbestos and it worked pretty good.

    Turkey baster but solvent resistant

Try using a big ole horse syringe instead for sucking out fluids. Works great.

    Shoe repair epoxy/glue?

Instead of repairing them try contacting the shoe maker. I've had good luck doing that. Tell them that the shoes are wearing out in that area and that you haven't abused them by forcing them off while tied or whatever. I received a $180 credit from Red Wing for a pair of boots that had water...

Had my first Welding class tonight

Dang you guys have gotten some pretty good deals. I looked into a welding class at my local college. It was over $800. I'd still love to take the class but $800 is pretty expensive for a hobbyist.

Where to find replacement 3-outlet head for retractable extension cord?

I had one that I replaced with the 3 outlet plug that came from a Christmas light extension cord. It was just a couple bucks and it has worked great.

ASTRO GIVEAWAY - 40SLMAX, Nano Max, and Nano Sockets

I find myself buying tools off of Amazon fairly often these days. I'll also pick up tools at garage sales if I see something I think I need to add something to my collection. I usually don't need them, I just think for this price I can't pass this up.
