septic riser - drilling into tank for baseplate/adaptor ring?

I agree with the backfill keeping it in place just fine in the yard or most situations. Heck I built my riser out of PT lumber (12" +/-) and none of my mowers have ever caused it to move around. At our previous house I used a cast manhole and riser and it never was attached in any manner. Just...

    Trailer Deck Strengthening

Do you know if you bent it or did it come this way and was bent by the previous owner? I'm aware of the weight of a telehandler, but only one wheel is rolling over this spot and lands on the stationary portion within inches of passing over the bent area. I'm wondering if something got dropped...

    Trailer Deck Strengthening

The first thing that comes to mind is welding a 3/8 2-3" angle across the gap while contacting the beam it's notched around.

Yeah, I was "poking" Strouty, he knows my lack of tech gadgetry interest. 😆

Sticker shock! No I didn’t buy.

I have noticed that the stores inventory seems to be different in relation to the ag activity in the region. Comparing the stores in the mid Atlantic (Appalachian's) area to here in Maine was the reason for my (unfair) sour response.

Server rack, is that something you'd see in a restaurant kitchen?

Sticker shock! No I didn’t buy.

Tsc = pet food, clothes and tacky yard ornaments. Hardware by the pound is ok but not so much for being a good "AG" store. That's probably just a sign of the times to stay profitable in most locations so I'm really not blaming them. I remember what they used to be 30+/- years ago.

    Steel Building Trim Question

Those "corners" look like they were bent up on site. Very poorly.

    Opinions wanted on shop picture

Those humongous corners will almost certainly "oil can" with wood shrinkage/temperature changes. Then there's the currently trendy black/gray color that I think in 6-8 years will date your building negatively. I'd go with a similar sized masonry corner. Probably an oversized brick or split...

Another Post Frame using piers > bracket > column question with finished slab

I believe that Perma column offers a precast high psi concrete post (only) with the post bracket cast into the top. These will provide you with the vertical separation and hide your poured footings. You'll end up with the neat and simple situation like @Natty Bumppo has shown above.

Air System Piping-- don't overthink it (lessons from my recent project)

I don't do any painting and battery tools have made most of my air tools obsolete with the exception of airing up tires and blowing dust. I do admire a thoughtfully designed and assembled air system and your's sounds sweet!👍

I bought the land, time to stop daydreaming.

I live in a world where you'd make an appointment with the person who's responsible for your permitting & inspections. Fill him in on your dreams, basically what you wrote above. Pleading your ignorance sometimes can be a good start to your relationship and project. Hopefully you'll be able to...

    Pole barn down spout location

I should have asked for your location and rainfall. It's better to not have gutters than to regularly overwhelm them. That sends the water in bad directions, like into your soffits.

    Craftsman 5/16 reversible wrench parts

I have a fair amount of Chinese ratchet wrenches. None have fallen apart! I take no joy in making that statement either. 👍

Building myself a 12x16 storage building

The sheathing will effectively lock walls together on a little building like that. Looks great, arthritis be dammed!

Pole barn insulation with Rockwool comfortboard

I've seen *it used in residential home construction on the exterior wall sheathing then strapping for the siding. * I'm not 100% if it was "comfort board" vs a special exterior name, but it looks exactly the same. I think you have a great idea especially when it's leftovers! Look one YouTube for...

    Pole barn down spout location

I'd allow for a down spout at/close to the midpoints. That's a lot of s/f and unless you up to 6" gutters and the corresponding spouting. It's not hard to overflow the gutters due to the spouting. 👍
