Here is a picture of what I am working with. I was thinking about filling the background with black.

Enameling a brass belt buckle? DIY or send it somewhere?

I was going through a family junk box and found an old brass belt buckle that happens to be from the year I was born. I am sure it was a give away from a sponsor or something, its not a price buckle. I like the looks of it was considering wearing it around sometimes. My daughter suggested...

Removing Rafter/Truss Pieces in Garage-How to so I don't die?

Okay, so first thing I guess. In that video, the garage does not have trusses. It has a ridge beam and rafters. The cross members that were supporting the lights, etc where rafter ties. Their job is just to resist the outward pressure of the rafters on the top of the walls. They should at...

    extended pipe/tube - strongest method

Thanks everyone for the input. I have decided to try just using the EMT without the line post. We are actually going to try using a 2x6 for the cross rail. I think that painted white, this will be a very obvious visual cue and hopefully prevent any attempt to jump the panels. The animal is...

    extended pipe/tube - strongest method

I agree, rosette welds are in the plan. The real question is the layout before welding. Do I use the EMT as an internal coupling for a piece of line post, or do I just make the whole thing out of the EMT? Both materials are basically the same thickness (.065 vs .060) so do I really gain...

    extended pipe/tube - strongest method

extending pipe/tube - strongest method I have a project starting this weekend that requires that our 5' pipe panel fencing be 6' tall. The existing fence is square top pipe panels like these: https://powderriver.com/product/powder-creek-panels/ With some trial and error, 1 1/4" EMT fits...

    Flexible Conduit connection to shed?

Here is what I have. I plan on putting a fence from the shed around the power on two sides, so you can only get into it from the front of the shed.

    Flexible Conduit connection to shed?

No, the space between the panel and the shed is going to be fenced in with a gravel surface. No mowing, no vehicle traffic, and not really any foot traffic except to access the meter and panels. I will grab a picture tomorrow to show you what I am working with.

    I was thinking LFNC.

    Flexible Conduit connection to shed?

I had a shed delivered and I want to add some lights to the inside. My meter and electrical panel is about 3' away. I think the proper way to do this would be to dig a trench and bury conduit from the panel to the shed, but would it be possible to just run flexible conduit above ground? There...

    Parallel Mains?

Last question before I can let this thread die. For the grounding of the two panels, is it allowable to share a ground wire? My plan was to run a 4AWG bare copper from the ground in one panel down two the two ground rods (>6' apart) and then back up to the second panel. This would give both...

    Parallel Mains?

The meter base is a Milbank U1432-O. I went back to the supply house and got one more single barrel lug and another dual barrel lug so that I could get everything hooked up and still have 3 empty connectors for the power company.

    Mini Farm Build

Its been a little bit since I updated this thread. Lots has happened in the last few weeks and I just haven't had too much free time. A couple of week ago we had to move the horses over, as our old boarding facility needed their stalls for some new horse. We moved everyone over into new runs...

    Parallel Mains?

I went ahead and finished up the panel wiring today at home before I haul it over to the farm site. I still need to add the ground to each panel, but I will do that over there once I get the ground rods in. Thanks for all the help everyone.

    Parallel Mains?

I opened all the boxes and started laying stuff out. I have a couple of questions, and I think I have a couple of either missing or wrong parts. In the meter base, does the power company usually supply the terminals for the end of their connections? In the attached meter base photo, you can...

    Parallel Mains?

Wow, that's cool. All of the Generator kits I have seen required circuit by circuit connections. I will check it out. I did some searching tonight and it looks like 200A disconnects are kind of hard to find and the ones I did find were much more expensive than my 200 main breaker panel. I...

    Parallel Mains?

But wouldn't that mean that I would have to run each circuit to be powered by the generator all the way to the panel by the meter? Thats a 100' run for each circuit.
