A friend of mine has a Snap-on 3/8 ratchet with 1/2" guts.Said he got it in the early 70's.

My father in law has one.It is perfect for the weekend warrior but not everyday serious use.His drawers don't open smoothly but he has them overloaded too.Hope this helps.

why wouldn't the addition of an extension throw off the amount of torque? Maybe not so much with a 3" extension,but it would surely be inaccurate with a 14" extension,for example.Just my humble opinion,but hey,what the hell do I know.

I don't know if this has been brought up before but I think it would be pretty cool to meet in different parts of the country and swap tools and stories.No money involved,just good ol' horse trading.Just a thought.I myself live in central florida.

In the new tool catalog,I noticed in the very beginning of the ratchet section,none of the ratchets are stamped USA.Omen of things to come?On a more cheerful note,my dual 80 ratchet,which I got about a year ago,is stamped USA.
