122 year old house and garage: Rehab

Wow, that's looking really nice. Having done three kitchens myself (as a complete amateur) I know how much work this is. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to see more.

Beautiful work as always Robert and thank you for the detailed explanations. If nothing else, I have at least one thing in common with you: This was among the tools left by my late father-in-law. It is a handy thing to have.

Re: Garage Refurb Nice repair on the wood stove. Welding that cast iron couldn't have been easy. The steel rack came out looking really good. Great idea and use of that space.

    Rockuf8's 15' 5"W x 21' L Garage Reno

Looks like I lied: the heater bracket mounts under the 2x6. The bolt is pretty snug but just loose enough that I can still rotate the heater if needed.

    Rockuf8's 15' 5"W x 21' L Garage Reno

Yes, the 5000 would more than likely work for you. I attached a short 2x6 across the top of two roof rafters (24" on center) and then the bracket of the heater goes over and screws into the 2x6. It's placed in a back corner of the garage and is angled to the opposite front corner. The walls...

Great looking garage and very nice workmanship. As far as heat in the garage I've been very happy with this one: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Fahrenheat-7-500-Watt-Unit-Heater-FUH724/202043070?N=5yc1vZc7fk My garage is a stand-alone 24' x 24' with insulation here in NE Ohio. It very easily keeps...

Carpenter doesn't show up to repair the elevator so you just repaired it yourself; I love it. Looks like a heck of a good job you did too. Great work Don.

The buffing & polishing station just gets better and better Herb. I also enjoyed seeing the pics of the Fall clean-up of your shop. Those pictures really show the high level of detail you've put into your shop. Really, really nice job.

Don, I certainly can't say it any better than what has already been said here but I am so sorry for the loss of Buck. It's been a little over a year since we had to put our Jack Russell to sleep. I know it's a very difficult thing you and your wife are going through. Many years ago I never...

Thanks Thomas for those cool Go-Kart memories. Love that steering wheel. You are indeed blessed but without your vision and very hard work none of this would have happened. You and Chris have done an outstanding job. Keep it coming!

Well Thomas, it may not have been your original idea but you can certainly take credit for the job you did constructing these. Really well done (and I love that Delta band saw). This wheel chock design is something I never would have thought of. Thanks for sharing more great projects with us.
