    Foredom Model C questions

Thanks Steaks, as much puttering around with old machines as I do it would be worth the money to get this thing rigged up to do things that I do all the time by hand. It deserves to be cleaned up and checked over and put back in service. Was concerned that the model C is too old for the modern...

    Foredom Model C questions

Got this awhile back and it got put on “get to it later “ pile. Now I would like to use it get maybe a foot-or benchtop speed control. Also the handpiece has no chuck at all, nothing in there. I looked at the Ca. 2019 online catalog and it looks like if I order a new handpiece to fit the old...

    Baby Bullet,Montgomery Ward,Proto

Thanks for the advice, many of the sockets are Blackhawk and Craftsman, Proto, but like everything he owns they beat to hell. After thinking clearly awhile I will probably not buy anything...better stuff is out there. Bought a Polaris atv that didn’t run, but looks good and has great tires...

    Vintage S-K tool box

The finish on the box is modern/redone by someone. The places in the tray kinda don’t make sense for sockets, so maybe it was a holesaw kit . Don’t know. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

    Baby Bullet,Montgomery Ward,Proto

The little ones are crazy priced now. I don’t really want the boxes, but I’m fantasizing about having some free time by next winter to fix them up. Would never sell the vice, like the looks of the Proto box. Might sell the others but would lose money because of the time involved..his health...

    Baby Bullet,Montgomery Ward,Proto

Local old fellow is trying to get my income tax refund money!.... He clearly wasn’t big on taking care of things at all, but I like him okay and want to be fair. The vice looks pretty good, the snap-on box is so-so. The monkey ward box has a lot of surface rust and generally beat up but the...

"The Patent King of the United States" Justus A. Traut

"The Patent King of the United States" Justus A. Traut . Did the stuff you got go with this model? All I have is this, a friend of mine was going to buy it but his interest may have cooled. If I had more parts maybe it would make a better display? ...or maybe you need this for...

    Cool old compressor

Yeah looks like a Speedair, as a general rule for me something that looks well maintained probably was so I would trust the tank. Those sell locally in good condition for around 150-200. I only buy them not working right and not as clean and pretty as that so I don’t know what it is worth...

    Old Compressor Information

The big electric motor there is called a Phase Induction motor, has a mechanically operated switch internal to the motor. It starts on primary (very powerful) start winding and then procedes to the run winding. Look that up so you know how they work and then clean and free-up and lubricate...

    Old Compressor Information

You may be mistaken about needing an unloader. The check valve in the outlet pipe is supposed to keep the pressure in the tank from coming back to the pump. Something that old was for putting air in tires on bicycles and such. It was never intended to make more than maybe thirty pounds...

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

. This storage bin is in the well house at the River House and used to have things to do repairs on the house and property. I don’t know if the name at the top is where they got it from or the manufacturer or what. Looks pretty old. Any of you recognize the maker? Got a spare drawer or...
