I have a Snap On SPB18 non striking head 18" pry bar. I bought it new around 88 or 89. After 30 years of use it is still perfectly functional. I cleaned it up a couple weeks ago dressed the end of the pry bar with a stone. The handle was looking a little used up so I took a look online for a...

    Grinding wheel balancing?

I have a couple of the one way balancing systems. They work well. A bit of fidgeting to get your wheel balanced but once done it makes a tremendous difference.

Egg on my face. Unhappy Snap-on Cobalt Drill Bit Customer

I have got a set of smaller drill bits. Although it was a package deal where the bits were "free" with one of the items I purchased. They are brand new and have a SO part number of DBTR11 on the roll up package. It's an 11 piece set up to 3/8 and none have the SO logo on them. Maybe the dont...

    Snap on prices...

Snap On prices are high but I think they are in a position that they get away with it. Many years of great marketing and marketing to the right audience have led them to a place where the can demand a spectacular premium. It's not for everyone and super expensive but there's no denying they are...

Best way to cut metal roofing?

I used a circular saw with The blade in backwards when I did mine. Cut like butter. Power snips may work better but I cut 25 or 30 sheets with the circular saw and did not have the need to find a better solution when I did mine. Although it was 15 years ago when I did it, I don't remember any...

    Magnetic sockets: Why not common?

I just purchased a set of 1/4" drive metric sockets from Grey Pneumatic. Worked excellent automotive dash panel bolts. I purchased a deep set. If I had it to do over I would just purchase the standard length. The magnet is mounted close to the working end of the socket so you don't get the full...

dealer vs big box company? (lawn tractor)

I try to support the dealer which obviously you did to. If the dealer can't come up with a better environment to take your money, with product, policy, people or customer service that outshines the big box place they don't want your money bad enough and I would look for a dealer that did...

    SWAG portaband

Got one after I convinced myself I had to have it. I used it once and there it sits. Great quality and well built. Have limited shop space so it serves it's purpose but I am not using it nearly as much as I thought I would.
