I would second the Diamana tool from HD. I would first use the surfacer tool to remove the Rock Solid and then use the grinder tool and grind the floor. You can rent the buffer and tools by the day and I would think it would take at least 2 days to do a good job.
Then get some good epoxy...
The Clark & Kensington will probably run you a little more then $30 a gallon depending on what kind of a deal you can work out. The same with SW, I would go with the SW Superpaint if you decide on SW. I have used this paint for many projects over the years and it has never let me down. If you...
You should plan on using 2 coats. I would not prime with the walls being in good shape but with a contractor spray coverage there really isn't much paint on the walls and they will really soak up the first coat, especially with a dark color.
I just got through redoing my garage and I wouldn't...
The Liquatile is a little harder to work with, as it's much thicker and takes some effort to get it rolled out but it's not that bad. The Endurashield is just like rolling paint, it's very easy to apply but it's hard to see what has and hasn't been covered. You need to have a plan for doing the...
Check with Fred to be sure but I think you will be fine with the Integraflex. One thing, mix small batches of the Integraflex. It doesn't say anything about pot life but that stuff sets up fast. It's just like the Liquatile, get it out of the mixing bowl and on the floor as quickly as possible...
My pressure washer is a 3000 psi unit. Give Fred at Alpha a call about the PW. I don't think the floor will be dry enough, by tomorrow, to start if you PW today but Fred said the bondtite was not as moisture critical as some primers.
That's strange about the pressure washing. I pressure washed mine after all the grinding, it's the only way to really get all the dust off. I went with the same color and flake but I did mine to full rejection. Here are a couple shots of how mine came out.
Yes you can walk on the floor with spikes, just make sure you pick up your feet. The little holes from the spikes will fill back in but if you scrape it with the spikes it will be hard to repair. You want to do the coating late in the day not in the morning, due to rising temps and possible...
I don't see your location, what will the temps be when you start the install? The product sets up fairly quickly, when it's hot out. If it's going to be over 80 I would recommend doing it in 1/3'ds instead of half at a time. If it's going to be cooler you should be OK doing 1/2 with a helper...
Put an air suspension kit on the car and you can set your ride height where you want it, then raise it to max height, to get in the garage. It will handle and ride better with the air suspension as well...
Yes it's a German company but this saw is not on their web site. I don't know if this is made by them or if it's another far eastern product with their name on it.
I'm looking for a new woodworking table saw. Does anyone know anything about this saw? SCHEPPACH M90124 It looks good on paper but I can't find out much about it. I want a good saw but I am limited to 110v because I don't have 220 wired on that side of the garage. All of the good saws are at...
If you put down an epoxy floor you are increasing the value of the property. I would talk to the landlord again and see if she will go for splitting the material cost, with you supplying all the labor. If she is smart she should jump at that offer.
It's a rental why spend money for epoxy. Get a roll out mat from Justin at GaragFlooringLLC http://www.garageflooringllc.com/blt-garage-floor-mat/ and take it with you when you leave.
For a flow-through type tile I wouldn't use anything but Race Deck or SwissTrax. Both companies have a nice floor design tool on their website. Race Deck, you can get direct from them http://www.racedeck.com/ with a discount for being a GJ member and you can get the SwissTrax from the Justin at...
Do some searching and you will find out several things about epoxy flooring.
1. Grinding is much better than acid etching
2. You should do a primar and a clear topcoat
3. There are much better products for your needs than PPG
4. There are several vendors here that can help you with all your...
I have had the M18 1/2 inch impact for a couple of years and it's a great tool. I hardly ever pick up my air impact anymore, as I haven't run into anything that the Milwaukee wont handle. It's got plenty of torque and the battery lasts forever.
I have the new Fuel M18 1/2 inch...
I have this rack http://www.racorstoragesolutions.com/p/detail/phl-1r in my garage and it's nice for getting things out of the way. I like the ease with which you can add or remove things. An electric drill works great for running it up and down, you don't have to drag out a ladder.
