    Everyday carry knives

Them boys is heavy, wears a hole in my pocket. I use the snap-off utility knives with pocket clip. Can usually get them for less than a buck at NAPA or Harbor Freight and they are pretty much all I need.

What the heck are you working on? I work on School Buses and very rarely have to break out the 3/4 stuff.

looking for a compact 1/4" socket set

Nice. In for the 51 piece even though I don't really need it, I just bought another one of the Williams sets.

I wouldn't give you 383 for that unless it cleaned my bathroom also.

I have an old Craftsman Pressure washer, 2100 PSI, 6.25 HP Model 580.768.310 that's over 15 years old and still going strong. I've used the **** out of it. Never gave me a problem. Only thing is to hold the wand open when you start it. I guess they don't make them like they used to.

    can't break my lugs

Yes, it helps if you know what you're doing. It doesn't take a great deal of heat in order to loosen up the lug. Not enough to spread to the tire actually. The wheel and drum make a nice heat sink. I rarely have problems with the outside nuts on Budd wheels, it's the inside that tend to lock up...

    can't break my lugs

On the budd wheels I've had to resort to the torch and heat the wheel up to get the damn things off. A lot of times if you hit the wheel around the area of the lug with a sledge it will help to loosen it up. I'll use PBlaster/sledge/1" impact, PBlaster/sledge/1"impact multiple times before I go...

Let's Hear Your: "Tools I Found in the Junkyard/Road" Etc.

MCCULLOCH: MS 1635 Chainsaw. Brand New. Walking my dog in my neighborhood one night before trash day. See a big pile of stuff someone has set out. Quick look and score. Take it home and examine in the light. Brand new, never been used. Next day use some starting fluid and it cranks right up...

    Plastic-handled wrench?

I've been trying to find sets of metric and SAE composite combination wrenches for years-- that don't cost an arm and leg. I have situations all the time where they would come in handy.

Ditto. I tried the 1/4" and 3/8" earthquake air ratchets. The 1/4 was nice until it fizzled out in 5 months. The 3/8 was **** from the get go. BTW, after hunting around for a 1/4 inch that I could depend on to last awhile AND that had power I came across Florida Pneumatic. These ratchets are...

    Snap-On's warranty...

Typical Snap-On tool snob statement. The extra money you give to SO gives you bragging rights and a sense of superiority. The warranty is incidental.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Don't get me wrong. I think SO boxes are pretty and heavy duty but I refuse to pay what they want when cheaper products will meet my needs. A cheaper product may not meet your needs and I can understand that. What I don't understand is the mindset that less expensive tool owners are somehow...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Because the Craftsman stuff doesn't do the job-- right? IMHO--- SCREW Snap-On. I mean it's your money-- buy what you want but I'm not paying SO prices for stuff I can get elsewhere for less than half the price. I don't even go on the truck. Too many options available. I'll buy SO if I can get it...
