    Let's see your toolbox.

I used to have a few but rarely used them. I've got 3/8 and 1/2 inch impact swivels that I use now and I just put whatever impact socket I need on them. Rarely need to either. In fact I have a Proto 3/4 half inch drive swivel socket that broke on me 15 years ago and I'm still trying to get a new...

The Orange Snap-on tools **** thread!

Them adjustable props are great, I bought four of them. I keep losing the caps on mine too. Piece of snug fuel line slid over end works great. ;)

    Catching **** for cleaning tools...

Quick story about a guy in our shop. He has OCD. The shop supplies each mechanic with two drain pans for oil changes. I've seen this guy do an oil change (vehicles use up to 30 quarts), dump the oil and then use three cans of brakleen to clean the pans spotless and put them under his bench. Then...

    Catching **** for cleaning tools...

Geez, how long does it take to wipe down your tools? Takes me ten minutes at most. Drink coffee on your own time. Take a leak on your own time. Fart on your own time. :dunno:

    Catching **** for cleaning tools...

Tools that I've used for the day are all wiped clean at the end of the day and put back in my box. Way I've always done it. For 35 years. I say screw em. Tell them to mind their own business.

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

And it's a decent ratchet. I used it today. The extension capability is great. I don't find it clunky at all. It's not like a Swiss watch but it's-- decent.

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

If you're old enough you can remember when you could walk into just about any department store and buy quality American made tools. I used to get great stuff at Montgomery Wards. Powerkraft brand tools. When MW went out of business I bought a buttload of them for a song.

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

I've got many ratchets and there is nothing that says I have to use one ratchet for every job. As I said, this ratchet does what I want it to do when I want it to do it-- for twenty bucks. Look, you're obviously the pro here and I defer to your definition of **** but how about I buy what I want...

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

And another thing. I recently bought a butane fueled soldering iron off the MAC truck (ahem-- made in Taiwan). The damn thing cost two hundred bucks. I asked the guy how much for two extra tips and he goes "Oh, not much" so I say OK order em up. He leaves and I try out my new toy. Inoperable--...

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

Just curious as how you can label the Evolv ratchet as "****". It does what I need it to when I need it to and when (if) it doesn't I take it back and get a new one for free. Is this your definition of ****, or is your definition of **** more like this--- "I paid more for my Snap On ratchet so...

Need a new tool brand- gave up on Craftsman

I still shop at Sears for some tools. I recently bought this Evolv extendable ratchet and am surprised at the quality. Not bad for under 20 bucks. I'm happy with it so far. I also bought this set of Gearwrenches from Sears online for under a hundred bucks and they are awesome. My toolbox is not...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

The Cen-Tech digital pocket scale is a PASS. I've had it for years and it's accurate enough for all the small item weighing I need in the shop. I've used it to weigh cut wheel weights to get the exact weight I need. Folds up when not in use. Cheap and I like it...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I've got the 10 ton version. Had it for years and I've probably used it four times. Works fine but it's heavy. Unless you're doing heavy duty stuff I'd go with the smaller 4 ton for sure. Kinda wish I'd got the 4 but the 10 was on sale for a hundred bucks. Indispensable tool-- for that rare time...

Who has a really small tool box?

Been meaning to post this for awhile. This is my road box that I keep on my city service truck for school bus repairs. It's a Sears box, Made in Japan. 35 years old. The size is perfect in that it makes me NOT carry too much stuff. It's jammed to the top and it's been repaired quite a few times...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Yep, I bought a set of those via mail (this was before GearWrench came out) and sent them right back. I remember thinking "great idea, poor execution".
