What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I would vote for carefully throwing it off the roof - making sure that the target area was free of people or animals. Or just leave iron the roof until such time that you can get a helper to line it down. If replacing the cap didn’t work then the cost to rewind exceeds the value - as you...

Shears / snips for cutting "tough" plastic sheets

That XShear looks great! Without knowing what plastic or thickness is involved, the first tool I’d reach for (assuming a flexible plastic) would be a pair of SK 10” heavy duty scissors. Bezos sells them for under $20. I have several pair around the house. The downside is that they are made in...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Been working in the garden the last several days us, but this morning it was cooler in the garage. I wanted to glue-up some MDF with solid maple edge banding so that gave me the chance to use the new to me Makita biscuit joiner with the recently purchased vacuum adapter. I’ve had plate joiners...

Took tools out to dig in the dirt and trim shrubs. Put tools away.

WHAT?!?!? A vice is not a bearing press?!?! I have so much to learn!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Swapped winter for summer rubber on the wife’s car and gave it a the once-over. I’ve not been able to duplicate an issue reported last week. There were no stored DTC’s. While driving, the emergency flashers started flashing, at least she pulled over, cycling button did nothing. Turning the car...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finally got around to swapping out the winter rubber on the nice car. It never fails to amaze me how much quieter summer tires are as well as how much sharper the “turn-in” is compared to squishy winter tires. It’s a minor pain in the *** twice a year, and the OEM wheels seem to get heavier...

Any concerns with finishing drywall and painting garage in a unheated garage in a colder climate

No issues here, but I do keep the space between 45-50F in the winter. I did use a setting-type of mud - Durabond 90. Original paint still looks good after 36 years.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Put up a few small shelves in the front part of the garage. Now the media for the vibratory tumbler is up off the floor and I no longer have to step over it. There is enough room left over for a few bottles and cans of cleaning supplies as well as my stock of glue boards. Then I made another...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Listened to the baseball game while cleaning up. Then I made a jig to guide a router to make some slots in aluminum. Didn’t feel like making more aluminum chips today and the weather started to improve. So I shifted my focus to weeding, trimming and planting some perennials, the garage activity...

Their Spec. Grade receptacles should accept 10 gauge - or at least they used to.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Installed new sawblade organizers in the new cabinet. The old blade racks built last century was falling apart and was completely packed (which was why it was falling apart). Sorry, no photo. After cleaning the rest of the blades, I’ve come to the realization that all of the 10” blades were in...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I went back and forth on incorporating a purchased tool chest but getting one to fit height-wise (at a reasonable price) was a struggle. Lowe’s has a few kobalt cabinets that would fit if you remove the casters, but they are pretty shallow front to back with 16” deep drawers. And the stock...

Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

The acrid, nasty smell would away bug me whenever I visited a plater. The raw, feeling in my throat lasted for hours. Give me smell of oil and machine tools any day.

The folks that don’t pack stuff down in a trailer or roll-off likely aren’t paying for it. Drives me nuts.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Got tired of having to piece together two short saw tracks. I've had my eye on this for a long time and finally the price dropped to something reasonable: And another wishlist item also arrived: So far, so good. Both these items should make it easier to handle larger sheet goods since I'm...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I threw this together over the last couple weeks - on and off. I wanted to expand the storage under the extension wing of the table saw. I did have a single small Lista there, but I didn't feel like shelling out that kind of money, so instead, I came up with a "close-enough" look alike. I had...
