Reamer for the cones of alloy wheels

Here is a tough one and I am willing to bet nobody knows. ;) When they manufacture alloy wheels, what tool cutter do they use to machine the "ball seat" in the wheel that the lug nut or bolt seats against? I'm looking for one to dress the seats after a wheel has been repainted. They are an...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Many owners don't remove the axles on their new motorcycles within the first year to grease them and if the center spacer seizes on the axle, good luck removing it. As for driving things out, I use a hydraulic press.

    Improvements to the MaxJax lift

Re: Wired Remote control! (up only so far) As you already mentioned, a solenoid come to my mind as well. It doesn't take much at the end of that lever. I use a rubber band to hold the lever in when lowering. You do want a manual quick-disconnect something like a pull pin.

    International toolbox review

If that is the case, Snap-On should drop their pricing due to the much lower labor costs in China. Why would anybody make something elsewhere unless it was beneficial to them? :dunno: And if that is the case, I want those savings passed onto me.

The part number should tell you if you go to their site or Google it. I might assume 3/8 since 38 is in the part number.

You need two of each. These are Faster's High Pressure Flat-Face FFH model. They are made in Italy. I got them at a local hydraulics supplier. Male coupler part number: FFH06-38NPT-M Female coupler part number: FFH06-38NPT-F

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

Muriatic acid, the acid used to etch and clean concrete. I use it straight and agitate/brush the parts with a 1" pure bristle brush. It sometimes takes more than a few minutes with the yellow zinc layer washing away quickly and then sometimes a medium grey layer under it that I need to wash...

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

The car is not a load bearing part of the structure. If I had a full-sized two post lift, I'd want a solid beam across the top connected to the vertical columns which would decrease the need for stronger anchors for the base plate. The only way that there would be zero moment on any column is...

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

Oh boy, time for you to go back to engineering school. Check out the manufacturer's calculations on the anchors. If there were no inward moments, they could have placed the 3 mounting bolts on the inside of the plate. The fact that the ends of the columns tilt inwards from no load (car parked...

Wow, that is a thin slab. A lot thinner than mine was after cutting it since I wasn't going to trust the mere 4 inches that the builder claimed to have poured.

Where To Buy "Not Made In China" ****?

Which is why I started buying my Snap-On tools at the age of 16. I still have them.

Where To Buy "Not Made In China" ****?

I did shop local. The problem is those greedy local businesses selling high profit off shore stuff.

Where To Buy "Not Made In China" ****?

Having read John DeLorean's book "On A Clear Day, You Can See General Motors", I remember him quoting some higher up. "Were not in the business of making cars, we are in the business of making money".

Where To Buy "Not Made In China" ****?

A bit late now, but list them anyways. Are they assembled here using offshore components or are they fully made here? Not really when you only know of Northern Tool, Grizzly, Harbor Freight and similar stores.

Where To Buy "Not Made In China" ****?

Its a hydraulic pump and cylinder for a 12-ton hydraulic press. No option unless I wanted to order it and pay for shipping and go through the trouble of picking it up stateside for say a Torin hydraulic press which I have read reviews on that some also had issues with. They are all made in...

The Made In China hydraulic fittings that came with my MaxJax come to mind as well. Once I replaced those, my MaxJax has been bone dry.

Where To Buy "Not Made In China" ****?

Can anything be bought that is not Made In China anywhere. These poor souls need a serious dose of Quality Control aka William Deming. Was there any point to drilling the hole right at the edge of the plate when the channel it mounts to has elongated slots. I mean its not like there would be...

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

I was going to install a Mr Heater and A/C in my garage till someone pointed me to a heat pump, something like a LG unit with a thin wall mounted indoor unit. No vent holes to drill or gas hook-up, etc and a simpler installation. Add another couple of grand but old age deserves it. ;)
