MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

I was looking at one of those. The phone call and price was all it took to decide otherwise. Besides, I have $4800 in my MaxJax lift and installation. That is all inclusive including new fittings, any extras and taxes.

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

Exactly, which is why rebar is placed at specific locations. When I was a kid, I used to drag these 6" x 18" (I think) columns out of the adjacent field. I don't know how they got there or what they were, but they made great supports under the car before I could buy some jack stands. I started...

Is your garage floor sloped for drainage? Better get the 4-foot level out.

Put a car on the lift raise it a foot and open the bleed screws a turn and listen for hissing air. Close when fluid comes out. Raise the car fully a few times if safe to do so and repeat. Make sure you have the fluid topped up when the lift is fully down. Otherwise it is a flow divider issue or...

    Sandblasters

Thanks! The vacuum canister can be removed I am sure. I want to make sure it goes down my flight of stairs and door into my basement where it will then be placed in its own sealed (but vented to the outside) room.

Could you measure the length of the side under the door (yellow line shown in pic)? Thanks!

    Sandblasters

Does anyone have this Blast Cabinet from Harbor Freight set-up in their shop? If so, what are the exterior dimensions of the cabinet without the vacuum canister? And how does it come crated; fully assembled or cabinet and base, etc?

Unless something has changed since I bought my MaxJax in July 2012, there is an O-ring on the fitting that screws into the aluminum block at the pump. The O-ring is then crushed by a large washer that is tightened down by a nut. The short hose connecting the fittings at the pump and flow...

Just look up "hydraulics" in the Yellow Pages and go to a local hydraulics supplier. As for the fittings, it doesn't matter where they are made; its the quality control that matters. I replaced the ones that came with the MaxJax (one fitting was faulty) with new fittings (they are made in...

They didn't have those back in July 2012 when I ordered mine. Besides, if Dannmar did supply them, you'd have four instead of two garbage quick disconnects. The ones that came with my MaxJax are packed away; I don't know why I kept them.

    Don't I know it.

    Aluminum trailer cleaning

Facto AT34 Aluminum Cleaner and Brightener Concentrate Würth sells a small spray bottle of the above product what I believe is repackaged and they certainly up the price. I have used both.

    Slab depth (future lift)?

The "plans" may show that but in reality, the floor ends up being thinner if someone else is doing the work. I'd pour at least 6 inches of 32 mPa and be done with it.

Do you have the name of the ferry service or a link to it? Three BMW GSes (1986, 1990 and 2003) and a Kawasaki KLR650.

It is the original "twin plugged" 3.6 liter flat-six. I know it won't. ;) Now if they'd just build a highway from Panama to Colombia so that I can ride my motorcycle into South America without having to air or sea ship it.

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

My car is as unbalanced as they get and I am not the least bit concerned. If I had "pinned" it into the so-called existing 4" concrete, it would be no stronger than the 1 foot of concrete that runs under the existing concrete (front and back) and with 8 pieces of rebar running along the same...

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

Never mind the pinning. You tell him I want to know where Hoffa is. And I'm not worried about my installation. I trust my work far more that someone in the business which is why I never hire anybody, and the few times I have, it was a total eff up. Where exactly does he think this is going to...

MaxJax Custom Install - Porsche 993

An update on the installation. My 993 at just over 3000 pounds has been on my lift non-stop for over 8 months now with absolutely no hint of anything in the way of my MaxJax mounts shifting, lifting or tilting...or whatever. So, what is taking so long? Well I am having fun doing what I enjoy...

Gloves that are resistant to Lacquer Thinner

The commonly available blue or black Nitrile gloves that you get in stores like Harbor Freight last about a minute till they disintegrate when used in lacquer thinner. Are there any thin gloves that can handle that solvent?

    MaxJax - Hydraulic Leaks

Lucky you. My installation including every single bit ran me just short of $4800. No regrets though.
