    Anti-seize on Lug Studs?

That has nothing to do with rust. It is the last guy that hammered them down with the impact gun instead if torquing them.

Looking for a safe assembly type of lube for rubber o rings, coolant hoses etc.

I think anything silicone based is good. Petroleum will soak into it and break it down

Mechanics in the House. Quick question

12 points only bite well on brand new bolts. 6points have greater surface contact area and hold onto the fastener better. Anybody who thinks otherwise has never done any real rusty bolt work on cars. Look in any pro mechanics box and the 12pt sockets are for 12point bolts. 6point wrenches work...

    Purpose of Flare Wrenches?

Pretty rare here in Western PA we would take a flare nut off without replacing the brake line anyhow so usually just cut the line and use a 6pt

    Entry Level Technician's Toolkit

Anyone that does not do this every day for a living really has no business commenting on this but you will have that on a public forum. If you intend to do this job long term start buying basic hand tools off a reputable tool truck. Ask other guys in shop which is most reliable there. Sockets...

    1/2" HF Earthquake Power?

Compressor would be my guess. Check the cfm of gun vs compressor but those pancake jobs are only really good for nail guns or filling up a tire.

What's a good Brass Hammer for working on Suspension in Cars?

Also should say that brass hammers are not required to do any repair to a vehicle. They are a preference thing. Always multiple ways to do same jobs.Mechanic I work with never uses one, I use one daily. He is just as good if not better mechanic than I am.

What's a good Brass Hammer for working on Suspension in Cars?

It takes a pretty good beating. I've had the snap on one for about a year and have no problems with it breaking apart and I use it almost daily. When I bought it I asked my snap on dealer if they would warranty the brass wearing out and he said it would be the last brass hammer I ever paid for.

What's a good Brass Hammer for working on Suspension in Cars?

This is what I use. http:// https://store.snapon.com/HBBT-Series-Bronze-Hammer-Bronze-Tip-32-oz--P643861.aspx As a professional mechanic I find it invaluable. Won't mar steering knuckles when trying to separate ball joints/ tie rod ends. Use it basically anywhere I need to hammer on something...

I do not plan on putting much more up there. I'd actually like to get rid of the couch. Eventually will add table space to expand the slot car track.

My garage and looking for some opinions/advice

We bought this house 4 years ago and I have been slowly getting around to doing some things with the garage. I have lots of questions...I am an auto mechanic...not real technical when it comes to construction. Everything is framed with 2x4's 24" on center on the sides and 16" on center at the...

    Is 28x28 Big Enough ??

I have a 28x28. My super cab 6 1/2 foot bed f-150 is so tight in there I just leave it outside. I keep the wife's fusion in one bay and have my workbench and other tools in the other. You will not fit all of that stuff in it comfortably.
