Adding a garage in the basement

So I am going to put an offer on a house today. Sadly, no garage. The house is built into the side of a hill, and therefore the front side of the basement is exposed to the driveway. There is another similar house up the hill with a garage in the basement, and I am guessing that they just did...

    HF 1/2" Electric Impact Thoughts?

Have the same problem. My lugs are torqued to 88 ft lbs, and it won't remove them. Got it about a month ago. Sending it back. I also bought the torque limiting bars for lug nuts, and it won't crank them fully. had finish it with a regular torque wrench. I'll stop short of saying save your money...

    Staggered 2 Car

I've heard that for the most part (with some exceptions obviously) the end product is actually better quality, and that because they have to transport it, they have to build it a little stronger than normal. What is the foundation like? Is it a full Basement?

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

I was checking out this random website that usually has random pics in different categories. One of them today was pictures of supercars on the street called "Supercars from around the world" and about halfway down, between pics of Spykers and a few Lambos is your Porsche sitting in your garage...

wanting to learn how to weld

I have been looking into this a lot lately. I live in the Boston Area, and the only one that I can really find is pretty pricey at about $2,000. I have found another few that are offered by Arts schools, and are generally categorized as "Sculpture Welding." or something like that. They all say...

Making an opener quiet (not the usual problems)

I thought about the rubber mudflap trick. On a chain drive opener, is the opener/motor under a lot of tension when lifting the door? I know that on a screw drive, it is not really, because it is just turning the screw as opposed to pulling the door.

Making an opener quiet (not the usual problems)

My problem is a little different than most of the questions about making a garage door opener quiet. I live in an apartment building so i don't actually own it, but the garage door opener is basically attached to the floor of my apartment. It is not a massive opener, but is bigger than a normal...

    Car diagnostics

I didn't actually pay attention to where the rotors were made, but unless BMW deeply discounted them and started selling through Advanced auto parts, I would imagine they are the Chinese ones. I have used them before (at least the ones Advanced Sells) on my Saab and didn't have a problem. If the...

    Car diagnostics

I have a quick question. I had to replace a stuck caliper on my car a week ago. I did not bleed the whole system, just the one caliper. I have a very solid pedal feel with no fade or squishyness in it at all. feels perfect. The problem now is I have a pulsing feel during braking which feels like...

Amazing. I love the English wheel and blasting cabinet. The cabinet looks massive, did you get it from an old factory or something?
