Thanks, That getting to be a better value, I think I will pick up a pack of those until I find a better solution. I am looking at some PET film from McMaster Carr I can get a 10 foot roll for less then $10 for several of the sizes. Then I just have to get it to stick. -Dan

I recently bought a HF blast cabinet and it came with one film applied and 2 extras but they do not sell replacements. What are you guys using to protect the windows of your blast cabinets? Have you ever broken an extension bar?

I have never broke a brand name extension but I have a couple chiwanese extensions that are mangles. One I twisted the male square end off and the other a 20+ inch I bent using it as a pry bar, heated it to straighten it and did not think about the fact that I changed the heat treat and the last...

    Aluminum AN Wrenches ??

You aircraft mechanics may not be using them but are you TRYING to not mar the finish on the fittings you work with? I think these wrenches are for people building cars they are planning to show or want to look nice, and they do not want a bunch of nicks and **** in there anodized AN fittings...

    Introducing the Snap-On TH860

Can I use one of these green softgrip handles to replace the red handle (that is smashed) on my 1/4 rotohead ratchet? This is the handle currently on it http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=120345004749 -Dan

    Dotco not so good

Dynabrade are great die grinders too, I have 1 ARO/IR 18K RPM, 1 Dynabrade 12K RPM, 2 IR revolutions 25K RPM die grinders. The dynabrade is my weld grinding/hogging grinder because it is rated at 1hp and there is no doubt that it is powerful. I think dynabrade and dotco are most likely about...

    Dotco not so good

That "chatter" comes from 2 things, the trueness of the carbide bur (if the shaft is bent forget about it not chattering) and the trueness (runout) of the collet/chuck. A good/great die grinder will have a double angle collet setup just like is used on some machine tools and they are very...

    Milton HVLP fittings.

Just an FYI Northern sells the plugs as a 2 pack maybe this site is selling them individually and the nothern plugs are steel (which I would much rather have then brass). I have made a short piece of hose (like an snubber hose) with a V coupler and a M plug, which I use for when I take my...

    Milton HVLP fittings.

I have had these for over 2 years now and had not problems, one bit of advice, if they get stiff put a few drops of air tool oil on the O-ring inside then connect an air tool (not paint gun) and run the tool to get the oil out of the coupler. The o-ring needs a little lube from time to time. -Dan

    Modified HF parts washer

About a year ago I posted my air powered filtered parts washer (maybe where the filtered idea came from maybe not). But I thought I would share with you how effective the filtering is. Attached are pictures of the filter from my parts washer after just a year, it became plugged up and this is...

    New husky Air Tools

I know these are not IR or CP, I was just wondering if anybody had tried them. I only use my RA die grinders for scotchbrites and such so I am not taxing the heck out of them but they are the most used air tools I have. -Dan

    New husky Air Tools

Has anybody tried any of the new air tools? I am most interested in the slim right angle die grinder, it is a sharp looking tool. -Dan

Thermal Dynamics CutMaster 70 plasma cutter?

I have a Hypertherm PowerMax 30, 30 amp machine, it is rated at 3/8 steel and will make its way through 1/2 - 5/8 very slowly. I love this machine, I use it for beveling, gouging (even thought it is not rated for it, it still works) cutting. The cut is so clean and percise and with a guide is is...

Is it ok to route copper compressor piping outside?

Because this tube will be outside and under significant air pressure I would recommend painting the tube to protect it from the elements. I know it generally takes a long time but copper is subject to embrittlement from the elements and most significantly bird droppings. The last thing you would...

    GearWrench serp belt tool

I have been looking at getting one but was wondering waht others had to say about it. You can't use a breaker bar or ratchet on a 98 sunfire with the 2.2 unless you jack up the engine and remove the motor mount and A/C line. -Dan

    running air lines long distances

If you do go the copper route, I would paint it to match the fence, so it is less noticable to anybody. Don't want yoru copper pipe stolen. -Dan
