    Initials in vintage tools.

Hey guys! Hope all of you are well and safe! I have mostly been lurking here since joining. Great stuff everyday. My question. I picked up a vv Craftsman wrench for a song. VERY light initials etching. I searched here, and a lot of comments say don't try to remove them. And I am of the...

Cleaning older tools. I searched GJ but have a few questions

I am a newbie to vintage tools. Have some of my grandfather's and have picked up some older wrenches which I plan to use. One of my goals for 2020 is to organize my tools and my workbench and surrounding area. I have searched GJ and gotten some ideas for cleaning up older tools. The...

    Question about prices.

I'd be happy to talk coins with you sometime. And on eBay you can definitely check the sold listings. If you are on a PC you click on advanced search. Then you check the box next to sold. If you are on a mobile device you need to click filter. Then you can choose sold.

    Question about prices.

I agree completely on eBay. I spent some time looking at vintage tool sales. It seems obvious there are a lot of people over paying to complete a set. There are also huge variations in sold listings for the same item.

    Question about prices.

A lot of great points here. Yes, I love a bargain Really, I love to cherry pick. And I know to be a good cherry picker you need knowledge, and the self-discipline to not buy everything you see. It's funny, you mention needing more space, tool boxes, etc. I was just in my garage thinking...

    Question about prices.

I was definitely happy with this for a buck at a pawn shop. Had to dig for maybe 45 minutes to find it, but it was a lot of fun. Edit to add: Since I am just getting started, I am sure some of my discoveries would not elicit the same excitement in longtime collectors. I was very happy with the...

    Question about prices.

Believe me, I know I won't get rich. :) Truthfully, I'm not asking because I'm looking to sell things. I just don't want to overpay. Like I said, I've been into coins for awhile now. I've gotten very good at knowing prices or how to find them. I know that the junk bins of tools at a pawn shop...

    Question about prices.

I am new here, and I hope this post is not frowned upon. If so, please let me know or remove. I am relatively new to the world of vintage tools. Most of my collecting experience is with coins/numismatics. I am not in a position to spend a lot, and am the type to try to do a lot of learning...

    New member saying hi!

I joined earlier today and posted a welcome thread in the vintage tools section. I didn't realize this was here. This forum has been a great help to me whenever I had to Google something tool related, etc. And I have a relatively newfound interest in vintage tools. So I have found myself here...
