    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

Something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/EBM-Pabst-W2E142-BB01-01-Axial-Cooling-Fan-230V-38x172mm-LOT-OF-2-/124750579204?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 I got mine from eBay.

    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

It probably can exceed 2000 psi. Just depends on how hard you pump it, which is actually the great advantage. The pumping volume is very low compared to the volume in the tank, so the pressure increase is very controlled. Even if the tank were to rupture, it is a very small spurt of water...

    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

You can use a grease gun with a check valve in the output line. Pre-fill the tank with water, thread the check valve and grease gun into the top of the tank and start pumping until you get to 300 on the gage. A grease gun can go to 1500 to 2000 psi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Used to Be Bolted to the Floor Here?

Is it possible that the slab was poured and left open for awhile and the structure came later? This would open up the possibilities. Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

What I did for mine was to gut the automatic drain feature in the separator and put an adjustable needle valve on the drain. Adjust it to just barely open enough to drain on each compressor cycle. Actually I arrived at this when the automatic drain gave up due to vibration. Sent from my...

    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

Nicely done. Very professional. My only suggestion would be to add a water separator between the aftercooler and the refrigerated dryer to keep it as internally dry as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Compressor after cooler

Could just use a coelescing water separator with a float type automatic drain on the inter cooler output before going in to the second stage. This would ensure only water vapor would go into the second cylinder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Compressor after cooler

Keep in mind that the dew point isn’t based on the ambient outside air temp, but the temp of the compressed air. Cooling the air between cylinders helps the efficiency by giving the second stage a denser supply of air. If you cooled it too much and didn’t empty the liquid water out before it got...

    New Sandblaster, need air compressor

Might try Polar Air - Eaton. They sell the pumps separate. I’ve had good luck with mine and they also can set it up with the pilot unloader. Not sure how much they are. The pumps are a copy of the Saylor-Bell 705 I think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Sandblaster, need air compressor

I wouldn’t go so far as to say you could buy a cheaper or smaller compressor. Sandblasting takes a lot of air. It is basically an open air hose. Also don’t confuse tank size. The big portable sand blasting services don’t even have an air tank. It is all cfm from the compressor pump. Not knowing...

    New Sandblaster, need air compressor

One other thing to consider if you are targeting sand blasting as the primary usage is a device called a pilot unloader valve. This is a valve that works in conjunction to the disc valves in the cylinder heads to basically bypass them. The advantage is it keeps the compressor from shutting off...

    Compressor after cooler

Just looked at the data sheet at the link you provided and I see the problem. This is a variable speed motor that need a motor controller. The controller provides 0 to 10 VDC in a series of pulses. Read this https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/fan-speed-control---0-10-volts Sorry if I...

    Compressor after cooler

If it needed a capacitor it would have one already there. Mine has one, it is the big cylinder device with the white wires just above the terminal strip in the photos. It is also noted on the label on my fan as 3.5 micro farad. Yours doesn’t have any note like that so it probably doesn’t need...

    Compressor after cooler

Not sure if this helps or not. Mine is a ebm pabst W2E250-HJ28-01 (maybe D1). It has a capacitor to start the motor Maybe some of the other wires are a hidden capacitor. It may need a jumper wire from the two hots feed the capacitor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Compressor after cooler

A case could be made that you would not want to excessively cool the air between stages. If you lowered it below the dew point you could have liquid water going into the high pressure cylinder, which would be bad. Picture all the atoms in your body exploding at the speed of light. That bad...

Refrigerant Air Dryer for Air compressor

I do car parts (not the entire car) and use a desiccant drier with a Motorguard M40 in-line as the final stage before my Iwata gun. The desiccant will last a couple of hours of spray time before needing regen’d in the oven for a couple of hours. I have enough desiccant on hand in a glass jar to...

Installing a natural gas heater myself?

I did my own too. 40k Hot Dawg I got for 400 and probably have 200 in the install parts and pieces. The hardest part for me was locating it on the ceiling. I wanted the vent to go up and miss the ceiling beams and the roof beams and they were not in line with each other. Several trips into...

    My Compressor Aftercooler Install

One thing to note when selecting an aftercooler size is, at least the way mine is plumbed is that when the compressor shuts down it blows down the contents of the aftercooler. The check valve is on the entry of the tank. An extra large aftercooler will be noisy emptying its contents through the...
