Working with steel liner for the ceiling

Drywall lift extension will reach 14ft easy. Did mine with 20ft + pieces, no problem with one person. You'll need to build a simple cart to load and hoist each panel to the ceiling.

Copper shop air lines. Type L or M

I used Bridgit on copper fittings for my radiant setup and it's easy to work with. Will use it for sure on extending my air system with 3/4 L copper.

    Radiant heat insulation

Look for Greenguard 2 inch 4x8 sheets. The tongue & groove is deeper than 250 Formular. This was recommended by my concrete guy. More flexible when you walk on it and deeper mating groove. I agreed with him and ordered the better boards. No regrets , 42x72 slab.

Vapor barrier between metal ceiling and fiberglass insulation?

I used a 6 mil plastic and have cellulose blown-in in mine. Air can still infiltrate in corners, little difficult to seal gaps, etc.

Crazy? Boiler Cost for 36x51 Building radiant heat

With some soldering skills you could make your own and save a lot. Call Dan at Blueridge to figure out part cost. Just did mine with Laars Combi in my 42x72 radiant install.

    Water line to detached garage

You can lay 2 inch thick xps R10 foam strips over the pipe in the trench . I used 8 inch wide strips in mine, it was a shallow narrow trench at 3ft instead of usual 4-5 ft. It should protect it, unless you get a really cold winter. Also added a couple of valves and air ****** to empty it in case.

    Another detached garage insulation thread...

Go R-19 in walls and R-38 in ceiling, 100%. You won't regret it ever. It will keep your garage from freezing in harshest winter.

Anyone decided against radiant then regretted it?

Delayed effect for weekend use : that's what I figure, program the stat so it's kicking in on Friday pm from 50 to 60 and by the time I use it on Sat am it's at 60 then turn it back down to 50 Sunday noon.
