Expenses keep accumulating, so I'm not sure of the total cost yet. Morton charges around $50k for a building that size.
Not too much trouble getting a permit. This is out in the middle of no where and the land was zoned agricultural.
Thanks guys. As you have suggested, I will probably get big by the air tool bug. So who knows where this will lead, but for now here are the answer to you above questions:
Budget: < $500
Tools: nailers. I doubt I find the need for sanders and grinders, but who knows...
Power: no...
I would like to get a new compressor and a few air tools. I won't be running any heavy duty tools, just finish nailer and framing nailer.
I may eventually want to paint an old tractor, would I need a much bigger compressor?
How big of a compressor do I need?

Marv,
My Morton sales person took me by a couple morton buildings. One was new and the other 10 years old. I didn't get to talk to the owners, but the getting to see the buildings was a big help.

Here are some pictures of my new Morton barn. 42' x 75' x 15'/10'
Next up is electrical, workbench, bar, basketball goal (a necessity in Indiana), storage shelves/closets and bathroom.
Thanks for all the great info on this site.

Everyone I worked with at Morton was pretty good. My sales guy did a good job, the builders were...
I just had a Morton Building pole barn built. Morton's prices were a little higher than some other steel buildings, but the quality seemed higher as well. All in all I'm happy with their product and would recommend them.
EDIT***
Sorry, I misread your post. You're looking for a steel...

I had a 42x75 (10' and 15' ceiling) barn built on 10 wooded acres in Indiana. I plan to use it for storage (atv/boat/trailers), wood shop and throw the occasional race party. Plumbing has been roughed in and I plan to finish a...
I just had concrete poured in a barn (42x75). The concrete has a sealer on it. Is there anything I should put on it to protect it even more? I'd like something that will make it look better.
For whatever it's worth, part will be a workbench/shop area and the rest is to store and work on...
