Off the floor, to the box, on the floor, repeat-repeat-etc.

What's your secret? I have a stationary tool box stack, and when I'm working on my vehicle, it never fails that one of the three situations below happens: 1. I choose to not wreck the garage. I crawl under the car, with a 14mm socket, and find that it's a a 15mm bolt. Back out, to the box...

What did you do "TO" your garage today?

Re: What did you do to your garage today? Glad to see this thread going strong! Yesterday, for the 2nd time in a week: I've been adding a few knick knack tools from HF here lately, but the garage itself has been getting more use than upgrades. I need some vehicle problem downtime to get...

Hell I'm jealous of your original setup, much less the new SO :D Are you a tech at a dealership or what? Super nice box.

    Under vehicle mat recommendations

+1 on cardboard. Use a big box, cut the corners so it's just a flat piece, and recycle when it's done its job for a while, start a new.

When do you oil your air tools

Same here. Just a drop or two in before they get used that day.

What do you guys do when you're all out of projects?

Take the park bench off the back of your TA :D I'll never be done. I even have a nitro powered RC truck that could stand the engine to be freshened up. Or replaced with a larger one.

What did you do "TO" your garage today?

Re: What did you do to your garage today? I started with 4'. Then doubled it to 8'. Finally a few weeks ago I made another 8'. My suggestion- go the f'n length of one of the walls. You'll use it.

I don't have a parts washer, so how can I

Link Decent bearings (example is front only) can run $50 for the bike. I can likely cross them over and save a bit, but these bearings are still tight, and I'm so OCD that I wanted them clean before repacking. Right, wrong, or indifferent. $40 may not sound like a lot for bearings, but when...

I don't have a parts washer, so how can I

The bearings seem tight, otherwise I'd replace them. It'll save about $50, so it's worth a little effort.

I don't have a parts washer, so how can I

get all the damn grease out of the wheel bearings on my dirtbike? Soaked them for 2 days in a pail of berryman's carb cleaner. That helped somewhat. I would like them completely clean so I can repack with waterproof marine grease. I don't know what the previous owner put in some of these...

I value your opinion- what pocket knife are you carrying?

I consider it sad that had some guys on those planes had knives in their pocket a box cutter might not have been so intimidating :(

So what was your BEST garage update this year?

Air compressor, if I can only list one. Followed by 12 more linear feet of workbench space which ties or comes a close second to the hydraulic press.

I checked a Sebenza out at the local store, it's beautiful. And $385. I bought a used SOG Flash II on eBay and am going to send it to SOG to be refurbished for their $9 fee. Would like a Seb some day though.
