Bit the bullet. Ordered a Bendpak XPR-10ACX

So I did it today. Ordered the bendpak xpr-10acx. Has anyone installed it themselves? Any tips or tricks to make this go smoothly... I am so excited to finally have a lift on its way. Now I just have to get a real compressor and my garage will be awesome.

Wall mount shop vac - $19 at Home Depot

They are getting hard to find..... Just go to your local home depot with the part number or sku that was posted earlier and they can search the inventory of all the home depot's in your area. Just make sure you call the Home Depot that has them before you make the trip. That is how I found...

Nice... I am putting one in my newly built garage, one in the garage attached to the house (wife doesn't approve of that one yet), and one to my brother for christmas... I'll let you know when I plan on installing the lift. Still trying to decide between the bendpak XPR-10acx or the Dannmar...

Wall mount shop vac - $19 at Home Depot

I scoured my local home depot in Chesapeake. They all sold as soon as they were marked down. I had them do a search and there were 3 left in Hampton, VA so I made the trip and now all three are in my garage. That was a great score. One is going on the wall and the other two are christmas...

    2 post lift thoughts please!

Without physically seeing/touching both the bendpak and the dannmar, by looking at the specs the only difference is the certification. Dannmar is a sister company of Bendpak. Guess the certification is worth 500-800 to some ppl. For a home lift, just go with a well known name. You can goto...

My new Bendpak 2 post lift.

I too am in the process of figuring out which lift to get. Going with either Bendpak or Dannmar. I own a few powerstrokes. My 05 weighs 8k. On the Bendpak site, they recommend the asymetrical lift for trucks because it puts the center of gravity closer to the columns. edit....just read it...

    Best E Bay add ever?

It was a good read..... But..... I find it hard to believe he didn't see it coming... Did he marry her on the first date? There had to have been some sort of warning signs....like not letting his brother attend...

    AutoEnginuity OE-Level Software

I have the AE with the Ford enhanced bundle. I just work on my own stuff. Which happens to be alot of powerstrokes. It takes a few times to get used to it. On my 05 6.0l it will read damn near anything. Excellent tool. Beats the hell out of a code reader.

    pad bid

WOW! What are you trying to get done? Just a pad? 30x66 @ 4" is almost 25 cubic yards. So material alone is less than $3000 (depending on your local prices - mine is $110/yd).

    shelving workbench

I have 3 sets of those. I put two in my shed and gave the other away. They are spider magnets....unless you keep it as clean as kartracer's above. I had one setup as a workbench and they are not very sturdy and the transition between the two was not flush.

Bobcat or Bobcat Mini for Garage Foundation

I used a Bobcat mini excavator for my footer. Everyone is right...there is a learning curve and it would probably be more beneficial to pay someone to operate it for you. I also had a friends bobcat over here.. It was small and I used it to clear the grass and level the area. I got used to...

    Automotive Scan Tool

I have the AutoEnginuity. You can get whatever make "enhanced " bundle. I have abot 7 powerstrokes so I bought the Ford enhanced bundle. This thing is awesome. No more guessing what is wrong. The only thing is that you have to know what you are looking at and what the parameters should be...

    Newbie Garage build

Remeber that in your planning phase, account for anything you may want/need in the future. You mentioned the lift. Check out the dimensions of various lifts and recommended ceiling heights. You are definitely going to need at least 100 extra 2x4s for bracing and blocking. Before my trusses...

Auto Parts stores, who and why

Advance Auto because I get some deep discounts. If you go to the counter and make some friends you would be amazed at how cheap you can get parts. I do price shop every purchase over $100. Most of those are bought from ebay. Any Ford specific parts (I have 6 powertsrokes) are purchased from my...

    need some suggestions

It really depends on what else you are expecting out of your garage. Do you want a usable second floor? Are you planning on parking/storing vehicles? My garage is a 24x36 with 10' studs on 4 courses of block. The roof is made of engineered trusses with an exterior pitch of 6-12 and interior...

    GFCI/Garage Question

Just like porschedude said. Get you a GFCI outlet. That will be your first outlet in your run. Hook the power from the breaker in the box to the "line" side (the side that is not taped with the caution lable). Then remove the caution lable, which is on the "load" side. and run your first...

    Grounding electrode at detached garage

Never argue with an inspector..... They can make your life hell... I just play dumb and ask their advice on everything and find out what they look for. I had no problems with my garage inspections...

    Grounding electrode at detached garage

The wire has to be continuous (what my inspector required) from the ground bar to the first ground rod then to the other ground rod 6' away. I used #6 bare copper. In my panel there is the ground bar which is grounded to the panel and also there is the one wire going to the electrodes. The...
