    TubeTek bender

So after thinking about this for a while and even having a member offer to make me some die blanks, I think I'm going to get a lathe. I've got a bunch of things things on my wish list that could be made from a lathe so now seems to be the time to find one.

TheEquineFencer, I sent you a PM but I'm not sure if it went through. Anyways after looking at the Hossfeld dies, I don't think they will work but I appreciate the offer. As for the air over hydraulics, I got that setup from the guy in Asheville that made the bender. It uses a harbor freight...

After looking through that link that TheEquineFencer posted, the pirate 4x4 link, on the second page one of the posters said "I used a JD2 1-1/4 x 6.5CLR and 1-1/4 x 3.5CLR in my tubetek bender. A 1 x 3.5CLR will not work." so... maybe its worth a try. Wonder if they take returns...?

I'll check with the contact at pro tool first then try them. That guy at pro tool has been really helpful. Thanks for the tip.

See if this is a better upload, and I would give these numbers a +/- .05. Anybody got an idea of what it would cost to have a die made? I'd be looking for 1 or 1.25 diam tube at 4 inch radius? I might even be able to buy a blank die and drill it myself...

I'll try to post the measurements. It's kinda an awkward thing to measure, so my numbers will have a little wiggle room. I haven't even looked to see what's it's worth yet. Or really what the cost to replace is.

Thanks, I think those are some of the ones I came across. I've contacted Pro Tools and they are being really helpful in trying to figure out if the die's will work. I'm gonna send them my measurements tomorrow but it's looking like they aren't gonna work. I may just try to sell my bender to...

I have one of these benders that the manufacturer doesn't exist anymore. I'd like to get dies for it. Does anyone have one and know what other dies will fit it? I know the Pro Tool dies look dang close but a few hits on a google search indicated that they don't fit and some indicated that...

    My Zombie Engine Build

I think it has a high compression piston and the sump is overfilled with diluted oil or diesel fuel and it's just ingesting that... thats my guess

    Show us your welding projects

I have that spool gun and welder but have only put but about 2 lbs of aluminum through it. No problems so far, maybe I got the right brand spools... I've wondered about converting to the 30A gun since the Hobart is technically a Miller. You say it needs a conversion box? Would it not just...

    First Workbench build

Yea I used a circular saw and a straight edge to rip mine. Sometimes I actually think I can rip better like that then with a table saw.

    First Workbench build

I just got done building a "door" workbench. I ripped them to 30" and put the ripped side to the wall, but since yours is freestanding I would just rip enough off the hinge side to clean things up and use it as is. If you rip too much you'll get into the OSB core. As to your stability...
