Craftsman V Series XXL Ratcheting Flex Head Double Box

I picked these up a few weeks ago and thought I should share. I didn't need these but I liked they way looked and thought they might be handy so I picked them up. Its 10mm-19mm skipping 15, 16, and 18mm. I think I can live without the 16mm and 18mm but I would like to get the 15mm. I know that...

What are good spare bolts nuts washers to keep for car work?

Starwork True Mechanic Reversible Flex Head Ratcheting Wrench

Just browsing Amazon today and came across these reversible flex head ratchet wrenches. My friend bought the non-flex version a while back and the ratcheting action is very smooth. I’m not fond of black / black oxide tools so I hope they eventually offer a regular chrome version. I had been...

    VIM or Lisle hood prop

I took a Harbor Freight load bar and cut it down a little to use as a hood prop, brake pedal presser, lift gate support, and so on. It was much cheaper back when I bought but I’m sure it can be had for less than the $24 they are asking for today...

Most Common Range: Hex / Torx on Cars?

I wish these posts would stop. Someone has already put the most common sizes together. Just buy one of these and be done. https://www.autozone.com/screwdrivers/driver-bit-set/p/duralast-torx-bit-socket-set-12-piece/914172_0_0

Ratcheting Wrench vs Ratchet - Which One Should I Get?

Get the flex head ratchet first before the flex head ratcheting wrenches. The flex head ratchet is more versatile in my opinion. I’ve had a Craftsman bent handle for years (both USA and Asian made) and they’ve been great. I recently bought a Gearwrench 84T bent handle as an upgrade for $38. With...

    Long Reach Hose Grip Pliers

Hello all, just wanted to provide a follow up to my hose grip pliers search. If you are a DIY guy or not looking to spend a lot of money on these type of pliers just get the Pittsburgh's like the OP said. I sold the Blue Point's because for the price, I was expecting a better finished product...

New SK Indexing Head Body Pin Puller Set

What about one of these indexing nail pullers or pry bar by Crescent? It's slightly wider than a similar pry bar and it already has a forked end. May need to be ground down a little but for $17 - $27 it won't hurt too much. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXCZ4EP?tag=atomicindus08-20...

Old wood handle broken screwdrivers wtd with them?

It's a good excuse reason to get a lathe and practice turning some handles or a grinder and redo the tips. Or both.

    Color Coding Your Tools?

For me, color would not be the only factor but it would be “A factor”. I got sick of looking for black tools in a black bag, in the dark, at night so I’ve been slowly upgrading my tools to high visibility colors. This makes them easier to find and less likely to leave behind under the hood of a...

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

The VIM pliers you linked to are not the same as the VIM WSC7 being talked about. The VIM WS57 in the link are lower cost stamped steel pliers and lack the cutting jaws up front. Also, the handles are not as wide as the forged versions. There are several clones of this model sold by Neiko...

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

For many people price plays a major role in their daily purchasing decisions including tools. Not everyone is in a mission critical environment that needs to have the biggest, beefiest, most durable tool to avoid downtime. I think that for many tool users, even middle of the road tools that you...

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

In regards to the wire stripper, it’s been done already, sort of. I believe the same manufacturer that makes the Carlyle, Mac, and VIM wire service tool will also make them for Icon. If that’s the case, then a comparison of any of them to the Snap On should suffice...

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

There are still 5-6 pliers that have not been released. This is a pic I saw on Reddit from SEMA 2023. 1. A wire stripper, not sure if its a copy of Snap On, I am not familiar enough with their tools to know off the top of my head. 2. The long awaited slip joint long nose pliers. 3. Hose clamp...

    Extra Long Handle 1/2” Ratchet

Break the lug nuts free with a breaker bar and use the Carlyle ratchet to spin them off. Let the breaker bar take the abuse, not your ratchet. That’s what it’s for. HF has a nice Icon 25” breaker bar for $37. https://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-drive-25-in-professional-breaker-bar-64820.html

Project Farm Flare Nut Wrench Review posted today 4/8/24

Anyone have any experiences with Carlyle flare nut wrenches? I was eyeing a set before this came out. I like that they tend to be good quality and I can walk in to any NAPA for warranty issues.

Do you think this is a Snap-on tool box?

For $75 I would shine up the chrome, lube the slides, put new liners and maybe put a coat of wax on it.
