Wait until they tell the OP that speed and velocity are not the same thing. 🤓

Junkyard Tool Bag: 6 or 12 pt wrench?

Is that a 6 AND 12 point box end?? Who makes these?

    Long Reach Hose Grip Pliers

Here are the Icon hose grip pliers for comparison. I thought I was going to get something along these lines of finish. I may just ditch the Blue Points and get something else for less. I'd love to get the ProAmerica's or Mac or even Milwaukee but that's just too much money for something I don't...

    Long Reach Hose Grip Pliers

So I opened my new Blue Point hose grip pliers today and I am a bit disappointed in them. First, they are made in China. Not a deal breaker but I thought Blue Point products were made in Taiwan, I guess not all of them. Second, they don't seem be very well made. The grinding on the flat sides...

    Long Reach Hose Grip Pliers

So I ended up buying a dusty but unopened Blue Point set off Marketplace for $50. I didn't consider Blue Point because they retail for about $80 and that was more than I wanted to spend but this guy was selling it for less and I offered $50 and he went for it. Before the Blue Point's came up, I...

    Long Reach Hose Grip Pliers

I'm also looking for upgrade suggestions that won't break the bank. A few years ago I wanted some hose grip pliers but I didn't want the HF Pittsburgh because those were cheap. They only wanted $15 for them, how good could they be? I thought I would be clever and pay more for a slightly better...

    Snap-on three position pliers

I didn't know SK made those. I will add them to my ebay searches, maybe I'll get lucky and find a pair for a reasonable price. Thanks Fedwrench!

    Snap-on three position pliers

Are the tips of the SO long nose pliers uneven when they are in the second position? If so, don't you lose some utility? You won't be picking up nickels by their edge anymore. I have the Icon 3 position slip joints and honestly, the 3 position feature is nothing special. Most of the time its in...

    Thoughts on carlyle tools

Carlyle tools are generally good but only worth getting them on sale. There was a pretty good sale late last year, this quarter is not as great. They source from multiple vendors so one tool may be very good while another may be nothing special. If you are comparing against another brand of...

    Napa NB41 "G" 3/8" drive ratchet rebuild?

I assume you’ve checked eBay? It may take a while, but one will turn up, however, not at the cheapest price. Your picture above shows Craftsman guts which were used across many brands such as Allen, KD, Napa, and Kobalt and probably more. If you can’t find a repair kit, maybe you can find a...

Snap-On screwdriver quality vs the others

I prefer a triangular handled screwdriver so I ended up putting together a Snap On set but found them a bit too big at times. I got a set of Meyhew screwdrivers and the slightly smaller handle, compared to SO, is a better fit for me. I recently saw these are available in orange and green as...

    Craftsman V-series clearance

V Series on the clearance rack??? I’m in the Los Angeles area and I have never seen any V series tools at my local Ace or Lowe’s! Maybe they’re getting stolen the minute they hit the shelves but honestly I’ve never seen any V Series tools in person.

Malco Connext nut driver tool tip with bonus tip

Hey Thanks! @KnurledNut Good to know about the Klein Switch Drive. I really like the Malco now that I've tried it so I'll be on the look out for the stubby Malco and the Klein to try it out. I saw the Hazet 810BH and I hear good things about it. However, I might end up making all the bit...

Malco Connext nut driver tool tip with bonus tip

Bonus tip- If you need to carry around a few 6" reciprocating saw blades but don't want a case that takes up a bunch of space, you can use a toothbrush case from Walmart. They come in different colors so you color code your blades too.

Malco Connext nut driver tool tip with bonus tip

I've always debated getting a nut driver set but I seldom have need for one. I made do with a 1/4 spinner handle but I never liked that the socket could get knocked off and fall in to an engine bay. I'm aware of the MAC and Stahlwille locking spinner handle but I don't like their handle shapes...

Husky versus Kobalt for wrenches and sockets

I wouldn't call Husky or Kobalt tools chintzy. Sure, they are not high end tools but they perform decently and are a good value. Also the OP said he wants something that if it gets stolen its fine, Husky/ Kobalt fit the bill.

Tool injury - not for the squeemish

Yes, but the picture shows it was holstered in an open top pouch. I have a Nite-ize pouch with a flap on top. I think that is what Bubba Fett had in mind.
