That "punch" looks like a neat program! My wife and I renovated an old building and after going through 3 architects, we ended up designing it ourself with a program called 3D Home Architect. Like yours it was easy to use has all the stated features and gives you that abiliity to "walk...

    Quarry Tile floors

Thanks Rollman! I'm glad to hear your tile floor has held up. What color is it? I'm thinking about using gray, tan or terra cotta. What about the grout? Does it stain? Did you use a grout sealer? I'm thinking of using black grout...can't get much dirtier than that. As mentioned earlier...

    Quarry Tile floors

My floors are old and cracked with several patches. I don't know how I could get them smooth enough to prep them for epoxy or VCT tile. Of course epoxy looks nice but it is not only expensive but I read so much about the problems : Lifting, staining, scuffing, burns etc. My guess I could get...

    Quarry Tile floors

I'm in awe of some of the floors pictured here. VCT tile is nice and the epoxy floors look $uperb. It seems each have their problems. I notice some shops have quarry tile. If Epoxy is $6-7 sq ft, wouldn't quarry tile be a better / cheaper option? What are the downsides of a tile floor...

New guy, with dream garage being built

If you decide to go with the heat in the floor, which I STRONGLY suggest, be sure to take plenty of pictures of the tube location. Definately plan ahead for things you may want to mount to the floor in the future ie ...lift, compressor or other shop equipment. I understand cost is a concern...

    Rust Removal

I recently renovated an old building, converting it into a home and a shop. During the construction, most of my tools and shop equipment sat idle and unfortunately acquired a uniform layer of rust. I'm not much of a home chemist so an "off the shelf" product is what I was looking for to...

If you were building a garage...

Like TAJON said:Heated floors! My father in law heats his garage floor with a water heater. Before he poured the slab, he ran some plastic tubing and tie wrapped it to the steel mesh. It sure is toasty in his garage. your feet are nice and warm and it was not terribly expensive.

best way to remove oil from concrete???

I tried that Pour N Restore to try and get an oil stain out of a terazzo floor and was not impressed. Best so far has been to soak with a degreaser like Simple Green then use a steam cleaner to extract.
