compressed air pipe through wall - how to insulate

Is the pipe coming right off the pump or off the tank? The pipe off the pump gets really hot. The one coming out of the tank not so much. I have my compressor in a separate building with a rubber hose running from the tank on it to the copper lines in my shop.

Can anyone tell me about these old wrenches?

Thanks for all the info. Attached is a pic off all the wrenches laid out. The roll has a tag on it but no lettering is visible. Also is another picture of Great Grandpa taken in 1895. He was the little guy in the front center. Cool stuff. These wrenches are in pretty bad (rusted)...

Can anyone tell me about these old wrenches?

This set of six Plomb wrenches were given to me by mom. These belonged to my great grandpa and what I was told was he went to Kansas City and took a course in automotive repair and worked at the Ford garage - this would have been in the early 1900's. These were the only tools of his that were...

    Sunex impacts

I just bought three sets. 1/2 metric, 1/2 standard, and 3/8 combo with the swivel sockets. They seem very nice. I have never owned any of this brand before but they seemed like the best bang for the buck.

    Damn concrete is expensive :(

I have a 4" slab in my 50x50 and drive my semi, dump truck, backhoe, etc in there all the time. Had it since 2010 and no cracks. I also have a four post 14k lift. I know you are supposed have thicker for it but I don't. The feet on it have way more surface area than a tire does. Two post I would...

Mine is a 60 gal upgright and has been sitting on the little pallet it was bolted to when I bought it years ago. No problems and it never has moved and it gets used a lot.

Big LED bulbs for shop in regular light socket

My shop (50x50x14) has 20 light sockets evenly spaced on the ceiling. I have had these large CFL's in there for about seven years and they have worked fine. Lately they seem to more sluggish in the cold than I remember them when I bought them and a couple make a buzzing sound. The bulbs are 85...

    Used oil pump

I have a roll around drain with an air evacuation that I use for vehicles on my lift but I bought a metal 20 gallon roll around floor drain pan for my tractor, semi, backhoe, and dump truck. It works great to drain into but I am striking out on finding a pump to get the oil from it into my 275...

    Recommend a 1/2" Air Impact

Yes harbor freight can surprise you. About 7 years ago I bought cement mixer there. When I brought it home my dad and I were laughing and how cheaply made it looked and were wondering how long it would last. It still works today and we have used it to mix up over 1,100 80lb bags of quickcrete .

    Craftsman replacement policy change

I grew up on craftsman and loved them. Even used to dream about having a good set of my own someday and I do but they are my secondary tools now as craftsman is now pretty much ****. Their old tools are good but the newer ones and their customer service ****. 20 years ago someone would be nuts...

Getting a PVC joint apart to reglue?

If it is just a drain and no pressure there is no reason why JB weld wouldn't work.

    Used HF 44" box value?

Oh yeah I get plenty of those " I will take it let me send you a check and my shipper will contact you" messages. But no legit low balls. I priced at $325 thinking I would take $300. Everyone wants you to come off the price. Heck If I listed it for $10 someone would probably ask if I would...

    Used HF 44" box value?

Texas - and while I would certainly sell it to anyone my post is not an attempt to sell it here. I just want to know if my price is too high or if no one here locally wants a tool box? I sold my old HF impact sockets the other day because I bought some Sunex ones and they were gone in less than...

    Used HF 44" box value?

I have the older 44" US General wrinkle finish roller cabinet and top box in perfect shape. No dents, scratches or stickers. I just got a new SO box and want to sell the old stuff here locally. Obviously to bulky to ship. What should it be worth? I think these can be bought new for $600 plus...

    Best 1/2" Air Impact Wrench

I have had an IR231 for about 20 years as well as a Jet impact that I am unsure of the model. One stays in the shop and the other stays in the truck. I bought an aircat 1150 to replace the Jet. I like it so much I ordered a second one to replace the IR231. I have not used an IR2135 and can't...

OT: basketball hoop anchor install in concrete

Nothing wrong with that setup. The design of it allows you get the pole perfectly vertical. I am sure their engineers and lawyers reviewed the design and it is more than adequate. While there will be a little gap there it won't be much. The gorilla system I looked at online has 5/8" bolts...

    airline underground q?

I have my compressor in one shop I just store stuff in and the air runs underground about 15' to my main shop. I used 2" PVC and ran a 1" rubber air hose through it. My shop is plumbed with 3/4" copper. I used the massive hose to avoid the neck down loss.
