I occasionally run across these "socketeer" sets and have not given them much thought. My interest was recently peaked when I found them in a 1955 challenger catalog. I suppose this means they were a penens product...

Aquired this penneys set which has a couple of penncraft pieces but most marked only jcpenney. Mixed set perhaps. Ratchet is Penncraft and is marked 3681, has two 3 inch extensions, a penncraft 3676, and penneys 3303. Maybe some sk penneys? Mixed with a little new britain?

Came in a box of junk. Looks like a sliding t but head is fixed. Any ideas on maker?

Picked up this carter carb tool set, not sure of age but kinda looks like duro indestro made.

Picked these up because I rarely find any sparkplug socket sets. Not sure who made them, but numbers match cornwell... They are stamped defiance sparkplug company, toledo, ohio.

Have some extra nugget stuff up for trade. May sell as well (make offer). I like any cool old socket set stuff I don't have. A few of the sockets are cracked or missing buttons but ok for display. Everything else pretty nice.

Snagged this craftsman set because it looks like sk stuff. Looks like prewar sk to me. Has one newer craftsman socket

Picked up this little indestro socket set in a grab bag of estate sale stuff and was surprised to find its a whitworth.

Picked up a wilton cadet. 62 is the stamp on the slide. As I understand it This date is 5 years after the date it was made?

Here are some pics of some 7/8 drive stuff. This is all mid 20s to early 30s snap on. If someone has some blackhawk 7/8 would love to see it, or any other brand!

It has a brass tag and is black, which normally would place it 26 to 31 or so. However, the shelves for the sockets and the hangers for everything else seem to be different, even the brass tag is odd. I can only speculate it is a missing link oddball between 25 and 26.
