Help...iron window grates flaking rust all over the place

I can open the windows to get to the other sides...I just don't think a 'spray' will work well as the overspray is going to be hard to block. I will look at that por-15...I am planning a HD/Lowes/Ace run tonight. Outside of this problem, I want to do my floors (VCT) and resheet the outside in...

Help...iron window grates flaking rust all over the place

I have inherited a garage and the previous owner embedded heavy iron diamond grating inside each window. It's great for security and looks decent. However, the iron is flaking rust pretty bad (if my door slams some will fall on the bench). I tried to wire brush it but it's making a real mess...

Low cost alternatives to T1-11 for siding?

plywood is not that dusty, the concrete board and MDF is...if you aren't taking precautions cutting MDF though good luck with that. In the beginning no one thought twice about asbestos dust either.

I don't think you have experience with this stuff then...have you done much work with MDF? Even outdoors MDF will be dusty enough to be dangerous.

    advice on 2 post hoists

check out the maxjax....pretty cool...you can't 'stand' under the car, but it's up pretty good for most jobs and most of the work I do I wouldn't want the car much higher since I'd be dropping the trans and rear axle usually.

Your First MaxJax: What to Expect

this would be perfect for me as my lift would be outside the garage...I also don't need to be standing to do tranmission pulls and dropping my suspension...as a matter of fact having it that high would make the jobs harder. Being I want it outside, these roll way posts are awesome. Once my job...

VCT over the flashing around the edge of my work shop?

Do you just put glue over the flashing and then pop the tiles over it? How do you do it? I have about 3" of flashing all along the walls.

Anyone know of stencils for 'imports' and parts companies?

Stencils are cutouts that allow you to paint them yourself. I am just going to go with decals since they are available and easier to do.

Anyone know of stencils for 'imports' and parts companies?

I am good, thanks everyone...that brands of the world site is perfect. Now does anyone know source for cheap adhesive vinyl? I have a canon i960 so I think I can't use roll material. 8.5x11 and some 8.5x14 would be great. I found some bumper stickers locally but they want $40 for a 10 pack.

Post your 1 car or narrow tandem garages!

Looking good so far. I would love to do my floor. 2 whole walls have workbenches tied into the studs. I may just work around the legs and do it. Maybe get a bit nautical with it? nice rod rack

Post your 1 car or narrow tandem garages!

I took everything off the wall, repainted and made some good reorganization. I now will have pegboards dedicated to Lawn and Garden, Woodworking, General, and Automotive. I also removed the bookcase the previous owner had in the middle of the workbench...I will make a bookshelf along the top...

Anyone know of stencils for 'imports' and parts companies?

I am looking for decals of Cusco, 5-zigen, Nismo, Nissan, Accel (can get this), Carbing/Okuyama, C's, NGK, Goodyear, Whiteline, KTS... Stencils are cardboard/paper cutouts you can spray yourself.

    The 99 cent starting bids

a 'real' .99 or .01 auction will have a fair shipping price listed. Many of the powersellers do this. I have won a few really lowballed auctions.

Thanks! Been busy repainting my workshop so I hadn't been back. Will check those recommendations out.

Anyone know of stencils for 'imports' and parts companies?

All my garage catalogs are full of stencils and decals for Ford, Chevy, etc. I drive a Nissan 240sx and would like to get some color up on the walls (just redid all my pegboard and painted my cabinets). Thanks

Low cost alternatives to T1-11 for siding?

It's the one that is the one that supposed to last the longest here in S. Florida...about 5-6 years with good luck. I have been talking to more about it and most will say the only drawback to hardiboard is wieght and if you need to saw it, it takes a special blade and is VERY dusty. I only...

Looking for rip fence for a Ryobi BS900

long story short the person that sent me the saw didn't know what the 'metal thing' they had was and threw it away. Ryobi is not making this fence anymore and the newer ones supposedly are not compatible. I am using a pair of clamps and some MDF now...but I'd like something more robust. The...
