    BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven

After the success with the electric hammer I decided to try something a little more pricey. Vintage Milwaukee tools are a little more expensive. If you shop around you might get lucky. I got this box and angle drill for $100 shipped. This was the first drill I’ve noticed a balanced stator...

    BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven

Re: BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven That’s a sweet drill. I’ve been eyeing this model as deals come up. Not sure on the metal composition, but keep me posted on any weld repair. If it were me, I’d buff and see what the crack looks like without repair. Mostly because I have...

No paint just bare metal. Depending on condition of your project you may not need to strip as you will need to do a bit of sanding anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I’m getting a little better at quickly sanding the casting. The electric hammer fired up and works good. It’s like a mini jack hammer. I have a few forged tips that need to be cleaned up this week yet. The cool part about these tools as I will use them if...

Latest project is a vintage electric hammer. Hoping to have it buttoned up tomorrow. This is the best example I have of what a little elbow grease can do. I had to use 100grit on most of the body. Worked my way to 1000 grit. Last pics were polished with red compound. Once I have it...

Started work on the attached garage. I’ll likely update the title for this thread to reflect both garages. Pretty excited for this hardwired controller. Added a main power switch for in the winter. Hoping to contract out the last 3 sheets of drywall. I don’t want to mud and tape this...

I tend to get sick of sanding after awhile and prefer to move over to a machine. Do you know of any good mechanical methods of sanding at this grit level? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ummmmm.... yuck! Tip. Don’t turn these things on until you inspect the internal wiring. The last three drills I took apart were very iffy. 200 grit to start on most parts. Finished with 320 grit to 400 grit before moving to the buffer. The emblem was very worn out...

    BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven

BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven Spent a few weekends cleaning up this old Stanley. Each time I work on one of these projects I re-insulate all the wiring. Also replace all wiring to the switch and add a ground. (Note: I’ll add more pics later. Getting an error on Tapatalk)...

Today I finished half the garage in Racedeck. My plan is to evaluate finishing the full garage or epoxy the half I use for car work. Also, a few shots of my jack wall mount and welding cart progress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh..... boy! Got this for $35. Started sanding and preparing for paint. Did some research and I need to get a bottle jack. This is a great table with built in lift.

Just a cheap one I bought off eBay. It came from China and took a few weeks. Works great and way cheaper than the dust deputy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The closed ceiling works fine. I have a lot of insulation up there. I believe the attic opening is 24x40inch. I might make a small hoist setup with a separate opening for my ladder. In regards to the PVC I haven’t had any issues so far. The vacuum surprises me with how large of items it...

I decided to move some of my power tools closer to my vac system. I painted some PVC and installed ports to my shop equipment. I also purchased a cyclone adapter. I just need to find a better bucket as the one I bought collapsed under vacuum. Once the system is complete I’ll post up materials...

    BEFORE & AFTER....A Tool Polisher's Haven

This thread is awesome, I’m getting more ideas from everyone. Finished up the the Porter Cable today. It runs great now. I double insulated all the old wires and added a ground. The thing weighs a ton and has a nice rotation speed. I’ll likely use it when I power ball the aluminum wheels...
