Late Model GM Trucks, Put Their Owners in Bad Moods!

I owned a 2002 Tahoe 85,000-143,000 miles. It went through both hub bearings in the front, one around 100,000, and the other at 130,000. Other than that, I changed oil, a battery, power steering pump, and tires and never had a problem with it. Those are all things I expect to deal with on a...

You know that Blue point chain extension...

Cool, but if I can stick my hand down in there to hold a bulky extension, I could probably swing a ratchet, or use an air ratchet. :dunno:

    Today on the tool truck..........

We had a Mac guy like that. He always had to order everything everyone in the shop needed, and he hardly ever got anything new on his truck. Albeit I did get a few good deals out of him, it was almost always cheaper to buy non-Mac tools from another source. I haven't seen him in 6 months, and...

    For the heavy truck guys:

My boss got me a hydraulic king pin press. A bottle of water and a 20lb sledge hammer. :( This is the set I got in December, from these people. Excellent customer service. :) http://www.mile-x.com/tiger-tool-20301-u-joint-puller.aspx (kit)...

    For the heavy truck guys:

It does work with the drive shaft and yoke connected. The type I did today had those press in caps on all 4 points of the cross. The automotive version from what I have seen looks something like this...

    For the heavy truck guys:

Today I finally got to use my Tiger Tool 10102 severe duty u-joint press on an intermediate shaft on a 80-something R Model, and WOW. This tool turned an hours job into 15 minutes. No hammering, torching, jacking, or prying. No hassle. I can't believe I have lived without it for so long. Just...

Wright tool grip wrench or Snap on flank drive plus

I agree Muffin Man. The open ends of my Wright wrenches work very well (although not "Wright Grip"). It is a pain once in a while, as my 13/16" is kinda tight on brass fittings, especially if they are dirty. On the other hand, I would rather they be a bit tight instead of rounding the fittings.

    The Insidious Green

I think it's actually 44" or 42", but it and the 56" are green. :)
