I was just at my local Menards and they had low clearance kits in stock. You might want to see if yours does too.

In my new garage I'm going with 1/2" CDX Plywood for the bottom 4 ft and then 1/2" drywall the rest of the way up. I think the pkywood will be a tad stonger than OSB.
