I can't believe a dry cleaner can get by with a consumer grade compressor like this. Most dry cleaner use at least a real 5 HP. A slow turning pump would cut down on a lot of noise for sure

Chicago Pneumatic does not make the Eastwood compressors. To me, they look more like Campbell Hausfeld based on the pump. I'm sure the pumps are made in China, which is not uncommon. Even "Made in the USA" pumps tend to get the parts from China.

As long as you have good 230 V power, the 50 amp could work with the 318VLE. BelAire (Atlas Copco) recommends a 60 am breaker. The motor is good 208-230, where some, like IR are either 200 or 230V.

The BelAire 216V and the Chicago Pneumatic RCP-561VNS are the same machine, different branding. Most places, including us have them a bit over $1000.

If that is the IR vertical portable, I believe that is actually made by Puma in China. I did confirm that the motor on the 2061V is 19 amps at 115V and 9.5 amps at 230V

It is definitely the same motor, but they use a slightly bigger pump,so it would be turning a little slower

BelAire makes a 60 gallon 115 Volt compressor. Model 2061V. Unfortunately, you just aren't going to get more than 6-7 CFM on 115V.

The BelAire model 216V doesn't have a starter, just the overload on the motor. From what you are describing, it sounds like a motor issue. If the pump were locking up, it would completely shut it down.
