    Mechanics get screwed

I'd love to debate the Mac vs PC thing but I don't think this is the proper thread for it so perhaps we should start another?

    Mechanics get screwed

I've been in IT since the DOS days when everything was a command line and the 8088 was the "hot" CPU... Windows computers are like Harbor Freight - Low quality and probably will get the job done but will need lots of care and feeding. And when you are done with it, it will be virtually...

    Impact wrench recommendations?

I do not have either version. Missed out on the Craftsman before they discontinued it.

Did not know that. When I went to sears and searched on C3 it didn't come up.

It's more than an inflation tool or fan. They have eliminated: 1 full size high power drill (I had one and it was great) 2 Spiral saw 3 wet/dry vacuum 4 lights - I've got an awesome c3 fluorescent 5 the 4 port charger - got that too and it rocks 6 paint sprayer 7 stapler 8 radio 9 others I...

    Impact wrench recommendations?

Cool. Let us know how you like it - it may be my next addition to my M18 arsenal. Only other thing I could suggest is if you get a kit, make sure it has the XC batteries. I got them when I got the M18 Fuel Hammerdrill and the batteries alone in the kit are worth over $200....

    Mechanics get screwed

Interesting topic and one I always wondered about. Especially since if I wasn't also in IT, the only thing that appeals to me is turning wrenches.... Yes but Sears also takes Visa/Mastercard, Discover, and American Express which you can almost always get a lower rate than the 19%+ rate that...

Bosch CCS180B Circular Saw 18v: Also CRS180B Recip Saw

No problem at all. I think the bottom line is you have to remember these tools are 80-95% as powerful as their corded cousins. As long as you keep that in mind you'll do fine. Other than that it's what fits best in YOUR hands and works for how you work. I think as long as you stick with one...

Bosch CCS180B Circular Saw 18v: Also CRS180B Recip Saw

I think for the cordless circular saw you have to realize a couple limitations of not having a cord. I've got the lowly Craftsman C3 7.5 inch and generally really like it. Its my only circular saw. You do need the highest capacity LiIon you can get as it will **** a NiCad or slim battery in a...

    Impact wrench recommendations?

If you have any future plans for an 18v system, I'd go with the Ryobi. They have the same specs and are almost the same tool as they are both made by TTI. I've got a bunch of the C3 tools and would not do it again as Sears seems to be trimming the line. They are discontinuing a bunch of the...

    Impact wrench recommendations?

I'm partial to Milwaukee so I'd go with this to start off: http://www.toolbarn.com/milwaukee-2652-22.html Comes with the high capacity batteries so you'd be all set for any future tools. The batteries alone are worth over $200 in that kit. You could also upgrade at a later date to the high...

    milwaukee 3000 mah ebay deal

Yup. Although in my luck dealing with off brand batteries (of all sizes) is that the mAH is vastly overstated.

With capacity like that I just assumed LiIon as I don't remember any 3Ah (3000 mAh) NiMH batteries. It may be worth it then.

    milwaukee 3000 mah ebay deal

Given that LiIons worked hard or discharged too much tend to start fires I'm not sure I'd trust a knock off battery to have good protection circuits. I wouldn't want, say a drill or saw to catch fire while I'm working with it.

    Craftsman: Outsource fallout

I thought I read here that they were moving them to China too and that new sockets are made in China now. Home Depot, Lowes, and Harbor Freight are all open similar hours and IIRC will warranty their tools there as well. All depends which is closer to your home or shop.

Craftsman 19 volt cordless impact question??

I'm pretty sure all of the Red and black chargers will charge all of the different chemistries (NiCd/LiIon). It will say on it if it's the Multi-chemistry charger.

    Craftsman: Outsource fallout

First time poster, long time lurker here.... My first set of hand tools was Craftsman in the 90's. Loved that they were US Made, competitively priced, and had a great warranty. Did many car repais with them and lost a bunch of stuff and bought a bunch of stiff over the years. 2 years ago...
