    Which plier set?

What's your price for the 3 piece set ( http://store.snapon.com/Pliers-and-Cutter-Sets-Set-Cutters-Pliers-3-pcs--P647709.aspx)? I've heard great things about the snap on needle nose, dikes, and slip joints, but not the tongue and groove (haven't heard anything bad, just nobody raving about...

    williams kobalt

If you break one, go warranty it and then buy a replacement from whatever top-tier manufacturer (with a warranty) you prefer, and keep the Chinese Kobalt as a spare. You'll save a ton over buying a whole set if you got a good deal on the Kobalt stuff.

Haven't bought from them before, but KC Tools has them (branded as Orbis, the OEM) for about $100 for all three: http://www.kctoolco.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=orbis

    Which plier set?

If you're interested in the SK set, I second that you take a look at Craftsman. The made in USA stuff is Western Forge and I believe is exactly the same as the SK stuff. These 2 sets would give you everything in the SK set you posted, plus a couple extra pieces, for less...

    what is a "starter punch"?A

Here's a couple of clips from Mayhew's catalog. They're calling starter punches "solid punches," which seems to be the same thing that Wilde does. They're different than drift punches.

    Wilde snap ring pliers set

I think the Craftsmans are rebranded Stride/Imperial. So if you want a more complete set, that's one thing, but you're not going to be getting better quality. I can't speak to the Knipex set, but lots of guys on here like them: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251094...

    How women use toolboxes

I think all the boxes are Viper. In particular, I think these are the big cabinet and top box (in a different color): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002DMLK2K/?tag=atomicindus08-20 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002DMLK1G/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Looks like Viper markets these pretty heavily as things...

New IRWIN pliers made in Germany !!!!

I see this as a good thing. Irwin is able to use their superior distribution channels to move NWS' superior product. It should be a good thing for NWS, Irwin, and the consumer. If they're available at a good price i would absolutely support this by buying some. Just because NWS has agreed to...

Brush Research US made Wire brushes for cheap at Amazon

Thanks for the post. I placed an order for a couple of 12-packs of brass brushed (scratch brush and toothbrush styles). Edit: Also, where are you seeing these are US made? Still a good deal if they're quality imports, I just couldn't find it on Brush Research's website.

    A flat pry bar?

Mayhew screwdriver pry bars: http://www.zoro.com/i/G0762666/ (31") http://www.zoro.com/i/G2881164/ (25") http://www.zoro.com/i/G3333294/ (17") These are their plain red handle instead of the dominator. Non-striking but a good bit cheaper and pretty similar to your Cman/Wilde prybar handles.

    Adjustable Thread Cutting Dies?

So would you typically set a die for a particular thread class and leave it (presumably then having multiple dies on hand, one for each class you work with)?

    1 3/16 wrench

I ran into the same thing with a fitting the other week. I have DOE wrenches up to way bigger than I ever need (1-5/8 I think), but my set skips 1-3/16.
