    SK 17828 Duck Bill Pliers

I have the Wilde version. I think the Wilde, SK, and Armstrong versions are all made by the same company, but I don't know who that is.

    I'm buying 10 of these.

Here's the youtube video if you want to skip their site: Oh man, they had me totally convinced that turning things was terrible, then they changed their mind. Now I don't know what to think.

GearWrench® Professional GearDriver™ Ratcheting Shaft System! $14.39 shipped.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've been looking for a good deal on a nut driver set but 1/4 and 5/16 are the sizes I'd have the most use for. I bought that same torque wrench from Epstein's for $50 and like it. For $40 I think you'd be happy with it.

Cripe Distributing (new) Web site returns on Jan. 22nd

I was curious about how his experience was buying through their new website, not eBay. As you said, although you've committed to buy on ebay, you don't pay until you get the real shipping cost. My concern is that on their website, it looks like I have to authorize the high shipping cost and...

Cripe Distributing (new) Web site returns on Jan. 22nd

How did you get a 10% discount on the site? I have a list of things to order but have been debating whether to use eBay or the new site, and the prices look the same both places. Back on their last working site, I had a 5% off code that made it a little more attractive than ordering off of...

Is this device safe for a 14 year old?

One suggestion I didn't see mentioned here: get him a bunch of banana cables (different lengths) and accessories (couplers, alligator clip, micro-grabber, etc.). The most dangerous thing I see with power supplies is guys rigging up stupid stuff with test leads and bare wires and the like...

Thoughts on life after "SK day"

I am very impressed with the quality of the stuff I bought on SK day. Obviously I'll have to see how it holds up long-term but it seems like quality tools. SK will definitely be on my short list of brands to look at when I need hard-line tools. With the changes SK has gone through, it seems...

"HGR Industrial Surplus" Euclid Ohio anyone been there ?

I have wandered through their warehouse but have not bought from them. I have some coworkers that have bought from them (mostly small electronics items like oscilloscopes) and were able to negotiate way down from their asking price. Their prices always seem to be better on their website than...

    Torx Precision Screwdriver set needed.

I don't know who made them 15 years ago, but I think the current Craftsman precision drivers are made by General. I never liked the handles on the ones I've used very much; the cap tended to bind up instead of rotating like it's supposed to.

I just use a little WD40 or PB Blaster with a nylon brush on my crinkle coat when it gets dust-laden.

    Torx Precision Screwdriver set needed.

I have a set of Wiha precision drivers (not including torx) and they are excellent drivers. I have a single T3 Wiha that i got for cell phones. At work i have a Moody precision torx set, which is just as nice as the Wihas. I also have 1/4 insert bits for small torx sizes, but find that i...

Super-Exciting News for SK Day!! 9/23 and 9/24

Hey Jori, if I go to SK's dealer locator (http://www.skhandtool.com/dealer-locator.aspx) and punch in your ZIP code, HJE isn't showing up. With all the steel you're moving for SK, they need to get you set up on there!

He has it labeled as patent pending, so I'd assume he's at least filed a provisional.

Super-Exciting News for SK Day!! 9/23 and 9/24

Absolutely. That's the point I was trying to make: they're bigger than some of the companies we've supported here (like Westling Machine), but they're still a small enough company that that an order as large as we've generated is going to be disruptive.

Super-Exciting News for SK Day!! 9/23 and 9/24

This say 132 million for Ideal (and lists no sources so who knows how they came up with that). That number includes a number of companies, including Western Forge and Ideal Electrical, so we can probably assume that SK is well under 100 million. That means they're maybe a few percent as big as...
