How To Start Tile On Wall - What's Your Preference?

Ledger board is the way to go and then cut the bottom row to fit. It would be very very rare that that first row is perfectly level and then when you get to the top you are way off. Do the tried and true method. Use the laser level as you go to make sure rows are level. Start of shower. In...

Advice for 55 year old garage floor (tile?)

The slated wall would be great also. Plus much more functional space than the roofing as there are tons of systems for slat walls.

    Crossing asphalt driveway with wire

I have an upper and lower driveway and had to cut across the upper once and the lower twice for my dog fence. I used about 3 inexpensive diamond blades from home depot in the circular saw. On the driveway I had to make two cuts on one of them was for the twisted wire pair to run it back in the...

Advice for 55 year old garage floor (tile?)

If you are worried about painting the cinder blocks you can also fasten furring strips to them and place metal roofing on the walls. Comes in all different colors! They did this to the outside of our work building and what a transformation. That is placed right over the cinder block.

Composite Tile Floor - Solid versus 'Freeflow'

Well, I'll know shortly if the solid tiles were a mistake in my install. I decided on the solid as I wanted to cut down on the dust and dirt from my deteriorating concrete where the tires of the car drive over. I am also now able to use a leaf blower to blow the floor clean and it is really...

Hot Water Heat Pipe Insulation Suggestions

LOL. I think I'll keep it a bit tamer. With my luck, someone would see Jet Fuel and call theDEC. If only you saw some of the stuff I have already fixed! I inherited a bunch of flaws on this house and that wiring is on the list to get fixed. I am having an entirely new service put in. The delay...

Hot Water Heat Pipe Insulation Suggestions

My garage has hot water heating pipes on the ceiling for the rooms above it. It is currently wrapped in grey plastic-coated fiberglass insulation and it is pretty ugly. I got the garage looking pretty good with a new floor, paint, and some cabinets and would like to dress those pipes up a bit. I...

    Masterforce Cabinets set up advice?

The OP may already have this done but just noticed the post due to Bullmanners bumping it up. I am not familiar with Mastercraft but I went with almost this exact setup from New age products. I caught it on sale and it was only $1200 delivered to my driveway for everything pictured. Unpacking...

    My Flooring Project

I have been wanting to redo my garage floor since we purchased the house 3 years ago. Other repairs had precedence over the garage floor but I couldn't stand it any longer and the girlfriend went out of town to work for a month so I jumped on the chance to redo the garage before she got back! I...

Composite Tile Floor - Solid versus 'Freeflow'

I did quite a bit of research before I bought mine and it all seems to buckle in the door opening when exposed to sun across all the brands. I did read where a lot of people would use the free flow tiles the first few rows and it eliminated the issue. I think the free flow with the open...
