When to walk away from cordless brand.

Those CTB4147 batteries can be had on Ebay for pretty good prices, I sell them all the time myself, usually under 40 bucks for good ones. A whole lot cheaper than a new one and from what I've experienced, most of the rebuilds are not very good on those, they are usually not as strong nor do the...

    Chuck - Stuck jammed.

Tap it on the very end with a hammer, then try. Repeat until it comes open. Have had this a few times, this will get them open.

    Aircat compact wrenches

I didn't test them side by side but I can tell you the 1055-th is very strong. The 1056-xl is a bit weak, I found a bad o-ring inside, replace that and it should be up where it needs to be.

The standard ones freeze at 65 degrees. Low temp ones can be bought though.

Making tool to prevent balljoints from spinning

That example, just put a bottle jack under it, pressure on and it should come off. Never had an issue when pressure is pushing it in the hole, they have always come off.

    Aircat compact wrenches

3/8" sockets go smaller in size and they are a little thinner too, makes it easier in some instances. Less chance of breaking a socket or anvil with a 1/2" impact when you're talking that kind of torque. I like the stubby impacts in 1/2", I have a Husky that 500 torques and it's a pretty nice...

    work benches... from scratch

I built mine out of the left over stuff from the home build. I used engineered floor joists for the legs, some 2x6's and some 16 penny nails. It turned out heavy and sturdy. Looks kind of funny with those legs, but it is functional and plenty strong.

How important is garage closely matching house style?

LOL, I have a 3-car garage and a 3 bay shop too, it could still be bigger. We have 6 vehicles here, one still at the other house. I had to get my shed built this summer to get all that out of my shop because I needed the room so bad.

How important is garage closely matching house style?

We built ours to match, IMO it just looks a lot better. Women are the ones who would be most likely to want it matching I think.

    Selling tools on ebay

Unless it was returned in worse condition cosmetically then when you shipped it, you are out of luck. This is selling on ebay. I've dealt with it more than once, it just costs you, it's frustrating as hell but nothing more you can do. I block every one of them that pulls this garbage, they...

How do you keep your garage cool during the summer?

The house we built, the furnace is in the garage, we had a heat pump installed too. I had the garage insulated and sheetrocked, it stays about 20 degrees cooler in there in the summer. It's great year round in there because of that. Issue is I do all the work in the shop, it has nothing for heat...

Tool Chest Drawer Count? Min or Max?

Couple of deep drawers, one for sockets to stand straight up on their holders so I can quickly ID them and one for air tools/cordless tools, then bunch of shallow for the rest is what I like.

    The best money can buy

They claimed 5-7 years service when we remodeled our kitchen in 2007, only issue so far has been the dishwasher, circuit board fried a relay, I replaced the board for 60 bucks and it's still working. Fridge, microwave and oven have been fine for 10 years now.

Sealed my driveway and now have problems!

Well, painting the house is a never-ending cycle as well. I've coated that driveway probably 5 times since 1999. My driveway will always be sealed, I just see it as no different than painting your house ,it's a protective layer. I didn't mean to say water penetrated it, it flows into every...

Sealed my driveway and now have problems!

It does give benefit ,because they last a lot longer when you do, they are smoother the entire time as well. I have a very large 21 year old driveway at our other home that I have done since 1999 and it's in nice condition still. Keeps it from getting rough from freezing water that otherwise...

    Nitrocat 1200

I like the 1200K a lot, but if you're looking for brute strength, then the Matco MT2769 is stronger. I've had them side by side, the MT2769 is the strongest 1/2" I've ever had my hands on. I didn't care for the feel of it and the housing and buttons feel cheap to me.

Snap on cordless impact battery adapter?

That adapter is for 18 volt batteries, however a CTB4145 and CTB4147 battery will probably slide on there as they do slide on to CT4410 impacts and CDR4450 drills which are 14.4 volt tools. That's the only possible options with that adapter. You say yours is 12 volt?
