Auto Shops and Compressed Air Systems

My compressor at work is set up at 150PSI unregulated. I can definitely feel the loss of power when using my air tools at home at 120PSI. 150 is the way to go if your compressor will do it.

    Air saw blade

I've done quite a bit of sheet metal work with my air saw. I've had the best luck using Bosch Jigsaw Blades: https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-T118G-3-Inch-36TPI-Jigsaw/dp/B000UMLQ9W/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1473186876&sr=1-1&keywords=bosch+metal+cutting+jigsaw+blade

    What is this tool?

Exactly. Also, it depends on the foreign object that punctured the tire. A roofing nail? No problem with a plug. A Lag Bolt? I'd pull the tire and inspect.

Gas post hole digger / auger recommendation

A digger derrick (I work on them for a living) and a handheld auger are two completely different animals! LOL You must have nice soft soil in Jersey for a handheld unit to work for you. Wouldn't last an hour in my neck of the woods. OP, how is the soil where you live? That could definitely...

Astro Automotive Focused Tap/Die set made from Japanese alloy - feedback

Yes, 1/2-13 and 1/2-20, I have ran into quite a few occasions where I needed 1/2 taps and dies on older vehicles. Cleaning up old lug studs and nuts is one example.

Astro Automotive Focused Tap/Die set made from Japanese alloy - feedback

I think that is a great idea. The only thing I would like to see are 1/2 taps and dies in the SAE Kit, then it would be perfect.

    decent entry level welder?

I've had an Eastwood 175 welder for about 3 years now, and it has been great. My main advise with it is to run .030 wire, it doesn't like .035. http://www.eastwood.com/mig-welders-175-amp-mig-welder-w-spool-gun.html I used it to completely rebuild my CJ3A, so I've got a lot of time with it.

    2016 Garage Sale Thread

I'm sorry, this is my first post here. I've turned wrenches for a living for the last 12 years and have yet to come across a truck with an "electrical problem" where the Tach is Stuck at 1500, the Speedo stuck at 60, and the Gear Indicator stuck in Drive. Please be safe out there and think of...
