    Weedwackers!

I mowed around 20 yards while I went to school, and several years after in the '80's and '90's. I wore out a green Weedeater weedwacker in one season, and a Stihl in two. My next one was a Shindaiwa straight shaft with handle bars that I bought in '88 or '89. I still use it today. The only thing...

    Cordless tool Investment

You didn't say what you would use the tools for. Assuming your a DIYer, any of the top brands would give you good long service. I use DeWalt and Bosch impact drivers, and a Hilti impact wrench, on a daily basis remodeling. Both the DeWalt and Bosch tools are durable and give good value for the...

Looking for a good set of beam levels

I have a few Crick levels that I got from Harry Epstein. If you want USA made then they are the levels to get. Very well made, and accurate. I really didn't liked any of the other US made ones that I have looked at. I have used Stabila levels as well, and they are very nice too.

Planning a new shop in SW MO. Any vendor recommendations?

I'm planning on building a basic 60x40 shop in the near future. The only extra is that I would like a covered porch. Because I work to what amounts to two full time jobs I will have all the done by contractors except for the wiring and lights. The shop will be used for woodworking, and general...

Unisaw Restoration for The Rocket Shop

"Everything else such as fence, plastic knobs, etc, you can get from Delta (now a Taiwanese-owned company)" Yet the saws, at least last I heard, were made in the US.

    Grizzly drill press opinion?

I have a 15 year old floor model Grizzly drill press and love it. Seems like 75 or so would be fair for a bench top model. With the price of gas I'm not sure I would drive a hour and a half unless there was no way I could get one closer. The new version of this drill is 374.00 shipped, and is...

    Reciprocating Saw ideas?

I have DeWalt and Hilti 18v, and a Milwaukee corded saw. Would recommend them all. I have used them all pretty hard and they have held up well. Since I got the battery saws I use them most of the time, and rarely pull out the corded saw. If you do go battery pick a family of tools that you like...

    Oscillating Multi-Tool

I have the Bosch 3 amp tool. Great tool. As good as any of the Fein tools and better than the original, because it has tool-less blade changes. In comparing blades I have found that Bosch's blades are indeed the best, but have not found the huge difference that the video indicates. I use...

    Need Some Faucet Help

"This is the style that has 1 handle for hot and cold. I can easily disassemble the top and get to the supply orifices, but the one where the water comes out I can not figure out how to remove to clean out. I tried to unscrew it but it just turns." If I'm reading your description right it...

    PVC vs CPVC

CPVC is for hot water and Sch 40 is for cold basically. CPVC is also better when you have high air temps. It is weaker than Sch 40 and needs to be supported about every yard or so. You need to check you local codes on using either of them. I don't have a problem using either for water in a...

    Miter saw....which one to choose...

I have a 10" Makita that I take to remodel job sites, and also use in my shop. It must be going on 15 years old. Great saw and came with a better than most stock blade. I don't think that Makita has kept up with other manufacturers, however and when I get a 12 inch saw for my shop it's going to...

What set/how many of Insulated Screwdrivers for DIYer?

I bought the Felo set some time ago, and I'm happy with them. You may want to check out Ash's page. He has a large set of Felo screwdrivers that include insulated ones for 80 bucks. He was having a sale on Felo products that I think it is over, but you may also want to check on that. Ash is a GJ...

Small portable USB chargers for cell phones or tablets

Different from what you are looking at, but I use a Bosch jobsite radio which has a 12v jack. If I have AC great if not then I use my Bosch batteries to power the radio and charger. Good solution for me since I have a lot of Bosch tools. Wouldn't be for anyone that doesn't.

Not enough information to give any opinion. Do you have pictures? Size? Table OK? Cost? If you can come up with more info please post it. However, the best forum for old equipment such as this would be owwm.org.

Cordless Circular Saw? Anyone got one?

I have two a DeWalt and Hilti both 18v. They equally do a good job, but the Hilti lasts longer on a charge. I bought both saws as bare tools, that is without batteries. If you already have or are going to get more battery powered tools then you might look at getting all the same brand. Hilti...
